Listening in on #Vancouver #CityCouncil re #BroadwayPlan. Lots of speakers, hopeful this council votes in approval.

Most recent speaker said 'must not make perfect the enemy of good.' I agree- is #BroadwayPlan perfect? Certainly not. Is it better than moving ahead in this city with *no plan*? To me, yes.
Sharing your story in such a public forum takes great bravery. To read this thread and many, many others is to be impacted and called to action.

Wow, amazed after spending an afternoon in-person with ~200 #bced folks this week at #bccaise Spring Conf! Facilitating conversation around our collaborative study on supporting students through the pandemic and beyond with @HasinanisaH. Grateful for the time & dialogue.

Excited to see this project progress with @UNYAyouth and @NVIT83 leading the way!
Indigenous youth should have opportunities to learn & support their well-being in a culturally safe environment. A new centre for @UNYAyouth & @NVIT83 will provide an inclusive place where youth can access cultural & support services all under one roof. news.gov.bc.ca/26766

If we can increase the voter turnout by 100,000 voters this year, we can elect people to City Hall who understand the housing crisis, because like so many of us they struggle to pay the rising rent in this city. So please register to vote now. It’s easy! eregister.electionsbc.gov.bc…
I love looking through projects recently funded by @SSHRC_CRSH. Awesome projects in #socialsciences #humanities across #canada, esp applied work done in partnership w community.

After 4 meetings and ~11 hours of Council time, 233 rental homes above the future South Granville Skytrain stn have been APPROVED! Read about the gong show below. It's great that this was approved, but we need to do better. This wasteful system just perpetuates our housing crisis
After 3 nights of speakers, Council's vote for 1477 W Broadway (a rental home project above the future South Granville Skytrain station) is coming soon! I think it's the first agenda item this morning, but we'll see. Links to the livetweets of 3 nights of public hearing below!
