We need all the firm, clean power we can get for net zero and beyond. That means more nuclear.

Today in Berlin a citizen led pro-nuclear demonstration hugely outnumbered the paid up staff of anti-nuclear Greenpeace with their slick and expensive stage set piece.
Such an inbalance represents the sentiments of the public. Around the world polling makes it abundantly clear that the public wants new nuclear.
Even in Germany (the most anti nuclear country in Europe) a majority of the public support existing and new nuclear energy. In polling we at RePlanet undertook last year 55% vs only 26% of Germans wanted their existing fleet to continue operation.
Such a clear public mandate makes today’s nuclear shut down not only an insult to our climate but and insult to the democratic will of the German public.
We can now only hope that this anti-science, anti-democracy contagion will spread no further.
