The gaming industry is still exploring the benefits of on-chain gaming but, as with all early explorers, we’ve got some challenges to overcome before everyone can jump in and claim their treasure. The shift towards a decentralized model for game logic, state and asset ownership clearly marks a significant departure from traditional gaming platforms. By storing digital assets on the blockchain, players gain actual ownership of their in-game items. This contrasts with traditional platforms where items, though paid for, are essentially "rented" from the game's servers. Composability opens up a ton of cool possibilities. It makes gaming more fun and personal because the things you earn or buy can follow you across different gaming worlds, making your gaming experience way more interconnected and dynamic. It's like having a character or item, that's truly yours, going on adventures with you across the gaming universe and fostering interconnected gaming ecosystems. With game logic and state being on-chain, every action is transparent and verifiable by anyone and could greatly reduce cheating and hacking, as altering the game state illegitimately becomes nearly impossible. On-chain games facilitate real-world economic transactions directly within the game's ecosystem.
