TROUTMAN POLICE CHIEF ENDS OFF-DUTY SECURITY ASSIGNMENTS AT SCHOOL BOARD MEETINGS
Troutman, NC - Troutman Police Chief Josh Watson has notified Iredell Statesville Schools that, effective October 26, 2026, his officers will no longer be authorized to work off-duty security assignments at Board of Education meetings.
The decision follows an October 12 incident in which Board Chairman Doug Knight requested the removal of a man who was reading sexually explicit excerpts from a book reportedly available in Lake Norman High School’s library. The excerpts included descriptions of sexual acts and anatomy that Firewire will not repeat in this post.
Troutman officers handled the situation calmly and politely asked the man to leave.
In his letter, Chief Watson cited concerns about the legal basis for requested removals, the protection of constitutional rights, and the expectations placed on officers assigned to these meetings.
“A request from the presiding officer does not, by itself, establish sufficient legal grounds for removal, detention, or arrest,” Watson wrote.
The board and school administration will now need to arrange alternative meeting security. Troutman Police will continue responding to calls for law enforcement assistance at board meetings within their jurisdiction. Officers may also continue working approved off-duty assignments at school sporting events and other school activities.
Firewire applauds Chief Watson for recognizing that officers must independently determine whether enforcement action is legally justified. His letter raises serious concerns about how requests to remove members of the public are handled.
Firewire's position is simple: If a book is appropriate for students to access in a school library, school board members should be willing to hear its contents discussed during public comment.
If board members find those passages too graphic to hear at a meeting, they should be willing to explain why the material is appropriate for students to read in private.
Excellent job, Chief Watson.

BREAKING: Iran threatens to destroy the undersea internet cables running through the Strait of Hormuz along with data centers and artificial intelligence facilities across the entire region if the war restarts.
"We have not yet included these assets among our targets," but "many of these cables, data centers, artificial intelligence facilities, and numerous other sites will be destroyed" as soon as the war restarts, Iran's SNSC chief Rezaei says.
Rezaei says "the pulse of the American economy in this region runs through our part of the world" and puts the total value of the region's cables, data centers and AI facilities at more than $2 trillion.

Author Heather Mac Donald says “systemic racism” is not the reason Black Americans are underrepresented in colleges and professions, she says the real reason is a "skills gap”
“This is something that's very difficult to talk about, and I need to give a trigger warning. But the average skill level of black students is very, very low”
“According to the most widely used, objective, respected measures of student competence, The NAEP, the National Assessment of Educational Progress, which is given to hundreds of thousands of high school students and elementary school students every couple of years, 66% of Black 12th graders do not possess even the most basic 12th grade math skills”
She says it is not racism to notice and talk about these things. She says this is why DEI is so destructive
“That skills gap means that you can have meritocracy in an institution, or you can have diversity. You cannot have both. Am I a racist for bringing this up? I am not.
The facts are the facts. I don't care. The facts need to be looked at. They have been completely kept out of the public eye in order to keep this systemic lie of racism going on”
Let me just say that if the cause of black people not being proficient in certain things really was “systemic racism,” and it really was the White person holding them down, then that would be felt by all races
But it’s not, if you look at the test scores in universities, Asians are beating whites in every category
It has nothing to do with systematic racism

NEW BORN INFANTS CAN BE TERMINATED (INFANTICIDE) AFTER A LIVE BIRTH IN MINNESOTA
MN Governor Tim Walz signing to REPEAL the Minnesota “Born Alive Infants Protection Act.”
Now a botched abortion (an infant born alive after a botched abortion) or a healthy new born infant, Can Now Be LEGALLY TERMINATED after a live birth. This is defined as INFANTICIDE. Keeping the new born drugged until it's death is been labled as " COMFORT CARE"
Look how elated the women around Waltz are behaving…

ATF Releases NFA guidance in response to the Texas NFA lawsuit:
"Effective October 9, 2026, ATF will no longer require individuals to seek ATF approval under the NFA before making or transferring short-barreled rifles, short-barreled shotguns, silencers, and “any other weapon[s]” as defined in 26 U.S.C. § 5845(e). ATF will also no longer require such items to be registered in the National Firearms Registration and Transfer Record. These policies apply uniformly to anyone otherwise subject to these requirements, not just to the plaintiffs in the litigation."
Massad Ayoob (@MassadAyoob) at the 2026 GRPC: “My one quibble with the Gun Rights Policy Conference is that I don't believe in gun rights. Guns are objects. Objects don't have rights.
Every one of you at this seminar is here to fight for the civil rights of gun owners. Every one of you is here fighting for human rights.
The great commentator on the common law, Lord William Blackstone, famously said that self-defense was the highest of all human rights.
When I'm flying back tomorrow, when somebody next to me on the plane says, "Hey, where have you been the last few days? What were you doing in Dallas?" I can tell them I was at a gathering of human rights activists. And so can you.”

🇺🇸 A Florida woman used Claude like a private diary and is now facing a felony charge after Anthropic reported one of her entries to the police.
According to an arrest report, Carli Michelle Heller wrote that she planned to “shoot up” the Lee County Sheriff's Office, near Fort Myers.
Claude’s safety systems flagged the message, a human reviewer looked at it, and Anthropic decided the threat was serious enough to report to law enforcement.
She was detained and charged with making a written threat of violence, a second-degree felony in Florida.
The law requires the threat to be made somewhere another person could see it, which a chatbot with human reviewers apparently qualifies as.
Anthropic says it may share user information in emergencies when it believes that's needed to prevent death or serious injury.
AI companies are under a lot of pressure on this right now.
British Columbia is suing OpenAI after it flagged a mass shooter's conversations about gun violence but never alerted police.
So, useful reminder: an AI chatbot may feel like a private conversation, but it is definitely not the diary under your mattress.
