Hello @elonmusk, I have always held you in the highest regard. Your extraordinary scientific vision, technological innovations, and achievements in space exploration have often inspired me to describe you as someone possessing almost extraterrestrial abilities-as though you had come from another world. However, your recent post has left me both shocked and deeply disappointed. By referring to Mukesh Ambani as “Dear Prime Minister Ambani,” in what appears to be a sarcastic reference to India’s Honourable Prime Minister, Shri @narendramodi, you raise serious questions about your approach towards Indian democracy and its political institutions. In our Indian mythological tradition, Indraloka, the celestial abode of the gods, symbolises higher ideals, righteousness, and the welfare of the world. Pathaloka, in several mythological narratives, is associated with opposing forces and darker realms. Viewed through these cultural metaphors, I must confess that I am now left wondering: Which realm do you truly belong to-Indraloka or Pathaloka? The ability to reach the stars through technology may elevate a person to extraordinary heights. But the ability to respect human sentiments, the democratic dignity of a nation, and the aspirations of its people is what truly defines a person’s stature. Whether you come from another planet, Indraloka, or Pathaloka, one thing is essential: an understanding of India’s self-respect, sovereignty, and democratic spirit. India is not a nation that falls under the personal influence of any individual. Here, the Prime Minister derives democratic legitimacy from the people; industrialists pursue their businesses; and the government functions within the framework of the Constitution and the law. Every company has the right to compete. Equally, no company can claim exemption from regulations or treat special privileges as an entitlement. You are entitled to argue for an opportunity for Starlink to compete in India. That is your right. However, using business interests as a reason to ridicule the Prime Minister of India or its administrative institutions does not contribute to a healthy and constructive debate. Mr Musk, however far you may advance in technology, you are not above Indian democracy. Your influence, however immense, can never be greater than the sovereignty of the Indian people. India’s history is a reminder that we must understand the consequences of external domination. We remember the East India Company, which entered India in the name of trade and eventually sought to establish political control. We also remember the many invasions and attempts at domination that our civilisation endured. Through centuries of challenges, India has preserved its civilisational identity, cultural heritage, and self-respect. We welcome friendship with the world. We welcome the finest technologies. We celebrate scientific achievements and innovation. But we will never accept anyone attempting to impose their dominance over our nation. Respect is not merely something one expects from others; it is also a responsibility one must extend to others. May your scientific achievements continue to benefit humanity, and may your technologies improve the lives of people across the world. But please do not turn commercial competition into a platform for ridiculing a nation’s democracy and its leadership. Otherwise, even those who have admired your scientific achievements may find themselves compelled to question your conduct. India values friendship, celebrates knowledge, and recognises talent.
