Food security is central to Mandera’s resilience. With 80%+ of the population dependent on livestock and the county facing IPC Phase 3 food insecurity, investing in climate-smart agriculture, irrigation and resilient livelihoods is critical.

Last week we got to commemorate International Day of Peace in Rhamu, Mandera County.
This year's theme was "Invest in Peace for Everyone, Everywhere". – at Kenani, Kenya
Farming in Rhamu comes with challenges. But through practical agricultural learning, young learners are discovering how local resources can create new possibilities.
Today, they plant seeds. Tomorrow, they grow resilience.

What do the headlines miss about Mandera?
They may show the challenges.
But they don't always show the young people learning, women building livelihoods, communities creating solutions and people imagining better futures.

Gain a diploma while saving some coins and learning at your pace.
Take advantage of this opportunity and level up.

Climate change hits the poorest hardest, droughts destroy crops, floods ruin homes, trapping families in poverty. But in Kenya's communities, youth are rising with climate-smart farming!

@rycommunities, we believe technology is more than innovation, it’s empowerment.
By equipping young people with AI and digital skills, we’re tackling unemployment and opening doors to income opportunities.
Together, we’re rewriting the future.
Together, we can break the silence. These four actions, education, online advocacy, speaking out, and supporting survivors, build a safer, more informed community.
Let’s raise our voices and raise awareness.

A journey towards equity is more than a destination, it’s a commitment to inclusion, empowerment, and justice. Every step we take together brings us closer to a world where opportunity is shared by all.

What is Youth Empowerment?
It’s more than a buzzword, it’s about giving young people the tools, voice, and confidence to shape their future.
From access to opportunities to community engagement, each piece of the puzzle matters

Sustainable development means meeting today’s needs without compromising tomorrow’s.
