Caring for a football club is absurd. Caring for the St Kilda Football Club is absurd and sad. By @Tom_Briglia and @lethalfooty

Excuse……you?
Jake Stringer is poised to join St Kilda with an announcement to come as early as tomorrow.
The Saints will be Jake’s fourth club, but after kicking 48 goals this year and with the Saints crying out for firepower, he’s set to move to Moorabbin.
Saints GM of footy Lenny Hayes said three days ago there had been no discussions about Stringer, but clearly things have moved quickly. @1116sen
The St Kilda Heritage Museum was selling off a lot of stuff yesterday at the sale. Does anyone have an opinion on that? I bought the 1966 Grand Final on VHS, but part of me is also thinking that maybe the club *should* be entrusted with preserving that kind of stuff?
They were selling a lot of Footy Records, some match DVDs and videos, a whole lot of other bits and pieces, even the 1997 Grand Final Hot Cross Bun jumper ponchos. I would love for there to be a central home for all of these documents (and quirks) of our history.

not trying to sound like a foaming at the mouth leftist but i do feel like perhaps sports should exist as a passtime that is slightly independent of cross-national phonegambling megacorps squeezing thousands of dollars out of 18 year old boys

The league continues to treat AFLW like it has absolutely no faith in the product. Its administration of the womens comp has been irresponsible, and its puny attempts to affect change have been slow and lack any kind of persistence.
Womens footy and AFLW is almost solely responsible for the games continued growth at grassroots over the last decade. If the AFL heeds the plaintive cries of the AFL club bosses and kneecaps the league, then they are derelict both in their duty to the game AND to the womens comp.
Ahh fuck. I really loved having him at the club - he was a really nice active link to the best times of the 1990s.
The Western Bulldogs have signed experienced welfare boss Tony Brown to replace Brent Prismall. The former Saint played with Luke Beveridge in the late 90s and has spent the last 15 years at St Kilda as player development manager @AFLcomau

Out of the vault.
South Melbourne cheer squad, all dressed as undertakers, and raising an entirely black banner, protesting the potential move to Sydney.
It’s such a shame, uh, generally.
It would have been great for someone like this to be successful in this role but it turns out the whole program is just rotten. Review to hell and back. Start it again.
Thanks for your immense contribution to the Saints, Dal ❤️
St Kilda Football Club can confirm Nick Dal Santo has made the decision to step down as AFLW Senior Coach, with his final game to be this Saturday against the Magpies.

Is he the kind of guy you really want at the club? Is this way too much of Ross wanting to keep Nas/lock in a new contract? He is a gun footballer, but is he the kind of guy you really want at the club?
St Kilda has indicated it is prepared to offer three first round picks for Nick Blakey.
The Saints have 8, 14 and 2027 + 2028 F1s at their disposal. They met with Blakey last night.
Even if @NMFCOfficial is Blakey's preference, Sydney will try and push him to the club offering the best trade.
@7AFL @1116sen @traderadio
You really asking?
Who got the better of this trade?
HAW receive: Ben McEvoy
STK receive: Shane Savage, Pick 18 (Luke Dunstan)
The Hawks got 161 games out of McEvoy, a two-time premiership player.
The Saints got 230 games of service out of Savage and Dunstan.

I get that this is how they make their living but every time these clips pop into my feed it’s just these guys talking about the value of content. The game is completely irrelevant. That might be the world we’ve got now but we don’t have to pretend it doesn’t suck.
"It (AFLW media) is missing former players who go hard in the opinion space... There are too many current players in the media giving analysis on (the) AFLW, they cannot say what they think."
