@x @elonmusk X can’t be a great “Town Square” or civic discussion space while: • Some content is hard, or impossible, for non-logged-in users to access • Users, particularly elected reps & candidates, can limit who can engage with their public posts, & how they can do so.

I don’t think we should have this cut-off by which rights of way need to be registered. Landowners benefit & it’s bad for the public at large. If it’s going to happen though cllrs should get officers making registrations rather than relying on volunteers. amp.theguardian.com/lifeands…

No-one should be in jail because a suitable monitoring tag system isn’t available. MPs should act to stop this happening. @DanielZeichner
As Gaie's MP I tried everything I could to challenge this decision to send her back to prison - including writing to the prisons minister Lord Timpson and the probation service. Why on earth is this government releasing violent criminals early due to prison overcrowding, but then replacing them with a 77-year-old peaceful climate protester who is clearly no threat to the public? And why is she facing this extra punishment of being locked up, for longer than she was meant to be, and over Christmas? Not because she's broken her bail conditions, oh no no, it's because the private company responsible for fitting electronic tags couldn't find one the right size for her, and the authorities weren't willing to consider alternatives like daily check-ins at the police station. Do we think that, perhaps, this government might be getting its priorities wrong?

@CrimestoppersUK Can you act to stop @NYorksPolice misleadingly and confusingly misusing your logo in the footer of their letters? Hopefully @DSkaith and @jocoles1 can help.

The force are not effectively advertising @CrimestoppersUK via their use of the logo in this way. The service, and its independence, isn’t explained or effectively pointed to. Other forces also promote @CrimestoppersUK in confusing ways but this is an egregious example.

Good quality reporting and useful contributions to public debate involve linking to sources. Deprioritising posts with links reduces the visibility of more valuable content.
Replying to @paulg
Just write a description in the main post and put the link in the reply. This just stops lazy linking.

There should generally be a public live stream from @Thirlwall_Inq & those reporting on proceedings should be able to share more than just short clips from open evidence sessions. All observers should have equal access & freedom to report. Openness should have a higher priority.

If proper court lists and registers were published we’d all surely find out about cases involving MPs and candidates and other public figures in a timely manner. We don’t have open justice without published court lists telling us what’s happening in our courts.

When the time comes everyone should be able to have a humane death, minimising pain and suffering. I therefore support the principle of the Terminally Ill Adults (End of Life) Bill and would like to see MPs vote for it at 2nd reading. MPs then need to refine it. @DanielZeichner

We should ensure humanity where people don’t have the capacity to decide to, or act to, end their own lives. We should take the opportunity to ensure the law doesn’t deter providing pain relief which hastens death. The law should cover withdrawing, or not providing, treatment.

We shouldn’t deny someone a humane death just because they are under 18 or are not registered with a GP. (The proposals, which involve a bureaucracy of forms, currently exclude those under 18 or not registered with a GP). bills.parliament.uk/bills/37…

#FOI release of risk assessment: "Increased risk of road users heading north colliding head-on with southbound vehicles waiting to turn right into Kings Hedges Road due to right turn lane being located on the western side of the central traffic island" whatdotheyknow.com/request/m…
Latest @GreaterCambs plans for the Milton Rd / King’s Hedges Rd / Green End Rd junction. The Milton Rd inbound right-turn lane is still on the wrong side of the island/painted chevrons which I think is surprising and therefore dangerous. greatercambridge.org.uk/asse…

The released risk assessment indicates no intention to change the plans despite this identified risk. The designers say: "While this is an unusual arrangement for the signals it will not increase risk of conflict. Opposing turns are often positioned head-to-head at junctions"

Councillors should have set up their delegation/escalation criteria so that a case like this - where a decision was taken not to act in relation to an identified serious risk - was put before the @GreaterCambs board.

A new sign to a hospital which was demolished in 2003 has been installed as part of the @GreaterCambs remodelling of Milton Road in Cambridge.
Do we need signs to a hospital which was demolished in 2003? Signing the urgent care centre which was on the site of the old hospital would have been important, but that's gone now too.

It appears @GreaterCambs may replace the sign with one to “Chesterton Medical Centre”. Are there enough patient appointments at the site to warrant it? Will benefits outweigh the harm of signing a “Medical Centre” with no walk-in services? @CPFT_NHS & @ccs_nhst should have input.

If “Chesterton Medical Centre” is deemed to warrant directional signage on roads (and potentially footpaths and cycleways) it may require more than the one sign which may now emerge as a result of a series of errors. @cambscc
