I’ve been looking back at my old Russian newspaper reviews. They highlight how much Russia has changed - and signs of what lay ahead. #ReadingRussia

I very rarely (if ever) suggest to my followers that something is a must read.
But to all my UK followers … this is a MUST READ

My musical tribute to Dame Cleo Laine who has died at the age of 97. Such a great jazz singer. But not only jazz. Pop, classical, she did it all. I remember her performing He Was Beautiful (Cavatina) with classical guitarist John Williams. Beautiful.

Congratulations to our Unit Padre, Reverend Caz Mills on her Promotion to Chaplain (SCC), Royal Naval Reserve.
Since joining us, Caz has been a valuable asset to the ships company from both a spiritual and pastoral role, but also regularly engaging with cadets and staff
BZ Caz!

We’re asking if you think a parish or town council should be created for the six areas of Tunbridge Wells without one.

This is typical of the nonsense being spouted by pro-tariff politicians in US.
Australia exports about £3bn beef per year to US at zero tariffs up to a quota laid down in US/Aus free trade agreement.
US exports no beef to Aus because it does not meet Aus hormone and biosecurity restrictions. Nothing to do with tariffs. Same reason Europe/UK won’t import US beef.
Even if US meat met Aus standards very little would be exported. Aus is self-sufficient in meat, US a big importer i.e not self-suffient. Again, nothing to do with tariffs.
"I appreciate what the President is doing on tariffs...Australia has sold $29 billion worth of beef in the United States, and we haven't been able to sell one hamburger in Australia because of barriers...you look at these numbers, and the ranchers of Wyoming are saying thank you Mr. President, it is about time!"

It's World Piano Day, an opportunity to celebrate this wonderful instrument. For me the piano provides relief from a world turned upside down. Here I play Hymne à l'amour by Édith Piaf and Marguerite Monnot.
