According to Air Data News, the FAA and EASA have approved its Safety Autoland system, integrated into the Garmin G3000 PRIME flight deck. An occupant can activate it manually, or it can engage automatically after prolonged pilot inactivity. Once activated, the system can: 🔼 Select a suitable airport based on weather, fuel, runway length, wind and terrain. 🔼 Control the flight and approach while transmitting automated emergency radio messages. 🔼 Land, brake to a stop and shut down the engine—without occupant intervention. This isn’t conventional autoland that a pilot configures and monitors. It’s an emergency safeguard designed to bring the aircraft safely to the ground when the pilot can no longer fly.
