just a little life update, and an explanation as to why I’ve been a bit more inactive :,) I have late stage endometriosis (some of u may already know), and my biggest ovarian cyst is 7.5cm. that’s about the size of a baseball in my lower abdomen. it has been affecting every part of my life for years now, and has recently gotten much worse. I’ve been severely sick from the pain and heavy gastrointestinal problems triggered by the cyst for the last week or so. I’m slowly getting better and am able to eat a little more in the last two days, but am still unable to do things such as shower, do simple chores, leave the house, etc. currently, all of my energy is being used to survive. get SOMETHING in my stomach so that I can take my daily meds in the morning, find comfort in things to get me through the day, try to change my clothes when I can, and so on. I was on a very high dose of naproxen twice a day for about a month which mostly got rid of the pain and allowed me to function, but it started destroying my gut and I began having constant upset stomachs. I’m currently trying out different medication combos to balance out pain management and trying to save my gut. it’s not going well, and things have gone downhill since I stopped the 500mg. really gotta figure that out before RDC. I have a doctor at the moment, and he’s lovely. he’s the only reason I’ve been getting even a hint of care for this problem for the first time in 10 years. this is the first time I’ve actually been diagnosed with endometriosis, despite having symptoms (and multiple ruptured cysts/er visits) for 10 years. HOWEVER, gynaecologists are the most difficult specialists to see here in canada, no matter how urgent my case is marked as. unfortunately that means I am unable to get surgery (that I very desperately need right now) for at least a while now. it’s really disheartening, infuriating, and exhausting. THREE gynaecologists have turned me down so far, most likely due to overbooking/no space/being too busy. it hurts a lot to know this, but there’s nothing I can do that isn’t already being done. it’s awful. the reality of this disease is much more graphic and debilitating than I could ever type into words, and I wish it was openly spoken about more. women’s healthcare has been so hush-hush for far too long, and it’s devastating on top of the devastating lack of funding. endometriosis is not taken seriously at ALL, even in 2026. 1 in 10 women have endometriosis, and 6 in 10 women do not get the care they need at all. these women live their lives in debilitating pain while being told that ‘it’s normal period pain’. spoiler alert, my ‘normal period pain’ that prevented me from getting out of bed as a teenager was NOT ‘normal’. period pain is never, and should not be treated as ‘normal’. anyway. I’m a bit of a mess. I’m exhausted, I’m angry at the healthcare system/the world we live in, I’m still very physically unwell, I’m in constant pain, I can barely walk, I can barely take care of myself, and I’m just really hoping things look up soon. I feel like I’m stuck in a corner right now. bit of a lengthy and very rambly post, but that’s just the reality of a diagnosis like this. I’m not going to act like I don’t feel like I’m dying every day. thanks for your continuous support, patience, and unwavering encouragement. I’m hoping to get back into things as soon as I can 🖤
