A lot of people love to disrespect…and THEN try to police your response. #attitude #respect #truth #life

Just like in politics, we need some fresh, innovative ideas when it comes to prison reform. The same old cycle is not cutting it for on either side. Change comes from new ideas, perspectives, and insight. #prison #politics #change

Marvin Anderson was 18 when he was wrongfully convicted and sentenced to 210 years in prison. It took 20 years to win his freedom. Last week, Marvin, a member of the Innocence Project’s Exoneree Advisory Council, joined Executive Director Christina Swarns at Binghamton University’s Harriet Tubman Center for Freedom and Equity to talk about how to push for change locally and nationally. “Research estimates between 1 and 5% of those folks that are currently inside are actually innocent… So that means up to 100,000 people are behind the wall who did actually nothing wrong,” Christina said. bit.ly/4BEOu2Z

We live in a police state and somehow millions of people in this country don't believe that
🚨Innocent Healthcare Worker Held at Gunpoint in Houston Case of Mistaken Identity A medical professional was brutally targeted, misidentified, slammed onto concrete, and held at gunpoint by Houston Police officers only to be released without a single word of apology. They were looking for a suspect related to a car theft. They admitted they misidentified her. She has since been treated at the hospital and is actively seeking legal representation and community assistance. The physical and emotional trauma inflicted by this unwarranted brutality has deeply impacted both her and her family. No one should ever have to fear for their safety while commuting to serve others. We need justice, accountability, and answers. #HoustonPolice #PoliceAccountability #JusticeForHer #MedicalWorkers #CivilRights #HPD 🎥Sedrick Baldwin

A deputy put the barrel of his gun into a man's mouth and pulled the trigger. It clicked. So he racked the slide and pulled it again. Michael Jenkins lived. This was JANUARY 2023. Braxton, Mississippi. 24 January 2023. A white neighbour telephoned the police to report that two Black men were at a house with a white woman. The homeowner, Kristi Walley, was a childhood friend of one of them. She was in hospital at the time. Six officers came. Five were Rankin County sheriff's deputies. The sixth was an off-duty officer from another force. They broke the front door down. They had no warrant. They called themselves the Goon Squad. Over roughly ninety minutes they handcuffed Michael Jenkins and Eddie Parker, beat them, used tasers on them repeatedly, poured liquids over them, sexually assaulted Parker with an object, and threatened them with rape. They used racial slurs throughout and told the men to go back to Jackson — to their side of the river. Then Hunter Elward put his service weapon in Michael Jenkins's mouth for what the officers later described as a mock execution. The first pull clicked. He racked the slide and pulled again. The round tore through Jenkins's tongue and shattered his jaw. He survived. Read the date again. The twenty-fourth of January, two thousand and twenty-three. Not 1963. Not Mississippi in the era your grandmother remembers. Three years ago, in a house, by men in uniform, who had a name for themselves. What they did next is at nine this morning, and it is arguably worse.

This painting, commissioned by me and painted in a prison cell, means more to me than words can capture. It was painted by @FreeBillieAllen, who spent decades on federal death row fighting to prove his innocence. In December 2024, his death sentence was commuted, but his fight for justice did not end there. His case raises serious questions about racial bias, the evidence, and a system that came close to taking his life. Art can be beautiful. It can also bear witness to injustice. Billie used his art to tell a story the system could not silence. I want people to know Billie’s story, understand his case, and recognize that a commuted death sentence is not the same as justice. Anyone who justifies this…go seek mental help
The murder of a one-year-old child can never, ever be justified. Neverrrrr! Every baby is innocent. And every baby deserves to live. Justice for Kohen! ✊🏾💔

Read some of the comments. Yeah the mom should be charged but when it takes that many dolt cops to stop a minor situation, and someone gets killed- a child- we have to question this.

These are the kinds of responses I get from mentioning a tragedy if a child getting killed? Was the mother wrong? Dang right. Does it take a handful of cops to stop someone in that situation? Nah. Bunch of cops who can’t handle a minor situation and again , overreact .

A black child will grow up to be a criminal. Better off dead.

The Supreme Court has established that cops can’t step in front of a fleeing subject’s car and use that as justification for use of deadly force. Now Kohen Wiley is dead because cops violated the law with zero accountability.
