ICYMI at Cocktails & Crime: a baffling Johnny Carson bio, an illuminating one about Dorothy Parker, a (literally) singular Brian Eno documentary, and a kickass Belgian thriller. vincekeenan.substack.com/p/c…

NEW COCKTAILS & CRIME. I find a (tenuous) link between biographies of Johnny Carson and Dorothy Parker, watch a great documentary that you can't see (at least not the way I saw it), and catch up with a killer new crime film. vincekeenan.substack.com/p/c…

Thelma Todd’s Sidewalk Café located at 17575 Pacific Coast Highway, has miraculously survived. Although, I read that the properties at the back of the building have not, including the house with the blue garage where Todd’s body was discovered inside her chocolate-colored Lincoln Phaeton convertible in 1935. Thelma's Cafe has always been a favored landmark. A rare example of a 1920s neighborhood commercial building in Pacific Palisades. It was one of a few remaining examples from this period. And now it really IS the last example.
