I'm proud of a lot of the details that went into this but my favorite is the geometry nodes-driven lens ring model. Probably over-engineered but extremely satisfying.

Hi, make sure the expression engine is set to JavaScript in your project settings.

This tutorial by @workbench_tv is almost there and I love that it's all expression selectors BUT it isn't very accurate :( youtu.be/gsPgOQAlqeE The ASH script on aescripts is cool, but I'd really like for it to be dynamic, if possible.

To make the offset adjust for the copies, we'll need to know the number of copies. The problem is, if we just pickwhip that value, it will give us an absolute reference that breaks when the contents are re-organized. 🪄 In comes propertyGroup()

The propertyGroup() expression unlocks a ton of potential in AE. My favorite simple way to use it is to keep shape repeaters centered! The expression lets us access properties RELATIVE to the property it's applied to and avoid some annoying expression errors. I'll explain⤵️

I've also added a property for controlling line-height and it's proportional to the font size. It should be much easier to deal with than adjusting the line height in the character panel. Hope some people find this useful!

Based on the AE textbox trick that I shared before, I spent some time expanding it into a more complete preset. 🆕It now includes vertical alignment options and a text-override selector that makes it super easy to use in templates! rossowens.gumroad.com/l/text…

With the pointOnPath() expression and a particle emitter, I made this spray paint effect that's controlled with a mask and a few sliders for the width and flow. And it doesn't need any 3rd party plugins! Download below ⤵️

Create Nulls From Paths is a built-in script panel that can be a lifesaver when working with irregular shapes and masks in AE. 1. Select a path 2. Generate the nulls to control each point 3. Do whatever you want with them. Parent, rotate, scale, wiggle, etc.
