@MartinSLewis - wonder what thoughts would be on this element of car finance? Incentivised but hidden charges to cancel

Icing on the cake is DVLA sent tax refund and charged 3 months road fund licence for the 37 days of ownership - 10 days of August and 27 days of September - can't fathom why 3rd month was charged. There's no procedure for contesting tax calculation error either 🫠

To be fair this is an easy mistake to make because Andrew RT Davies himself literally describes himself in his own bio as “Welsh Conservative Leader”. Does this make him also “bordering on derangement”? Who knows…

Why are garages now taking pictures indoors? Colours look darker in artificial light and more difficult to see the condition These cars are same colour 🤔 Have looked at 10 'approved' used XC40s - found cracked lights, resprayed panels, lots of dog hair & smoke smell 😫

Critical of PX condition, photo tiny issues & offer low price, whilst neglecting to show issues with their cars and asking over value on prices (pics) Salesmen disinterested, repeat 'approved' used, point checks, etc. Even when you point out issues, lack of prep, dirt, etc

Yet more data showing that the 20mph limit in Wales is highly effective at reducing crashes. They show a reduction in road casualties on 20mph and 30mph roads combined. From Jan - March 2024: ⬇️19% compared with the previous quarter ⬇️26% lower than the same quarter in 2023 These are the lowest recorded figures apart from during the Covid pandemic. 377 casualties were reported on 20mph and 30 mph roads combined between Jan-Mar compared with 463 casualties in the previous quarter.

A thread of the coolest things you didn't know about the 2024 Paris Olympics 1. Olympians who win a medal will take home a real piece of the Eiffel Tower. Fragments of iron that were removed & preserved during renovations to the Eiffel Tower during the 20th century have been infused into the medals. Each medal includes 18 grams (0.04 pounds) of the Eiffel iron.

Am reading another supposedly serious analysis of Starmer’s family values that misunderstands what a toolmaker does. Unbelievable, given the attention paid to this detail of his psychological make-up. Once more for those at the back: a toolmaker does not make the tools you get in a tool kit, or are used by carpenters or plumbers, or are found in DIY stores. No hammers. No chisels. No spanners. My dad was a toolmaker. He used to work for Timex in Dundee, making watches. With tolerances of a thousandth of an inch he would, for example, a use a lathe to shape a die that was then used to stamp out the tiny component parts of a watch mechanism from thin sheets of metal. That’s what a toolmaker does. It’s far and away the most skilled job in the industrial manufacturing process. It isn’t an artisan making bespoke hand tools for Christmas presents for middle-aged men who work in offices. Please get this right and stop making a fool of yourself.

Hear me out, but what if the election results were announced in a Eurovision style? "Good evening Clive and Laura! Thank you for a wonderful show! The parliamentary seat for the constituency of _______ goes to..." 😂

I'm gonna explain to y'all why Britain considers 78°F/25°C hot. I know hot because I grew up in Texas and spent half my life in Las Vegas. So I am absolutely qualified to explain this to the rest of you who laugh at UK "heat waves".

The Spitfire behind Farage's head is MH434 - one of the most famous survivors of WW2. Its pilot was an immigrant - Henry Lardner-Burke Born in South Africa Henry came here and fought for the RAF and later took a home from a British person presumably - when he settled for good
Immigration is the real reason for the housing crisis!
