I'm not an Elon hater. I'm just telling you the Honest Truth: This is a marketing stunt. The technology is quite old. Just nobody ever thought of bolting it on a car. Because it's pointless. Porsche or Ferrari could also build something like this if they wanted, but they don't, because it's not worth it for them. It's worth it for Elon though, because his entire brand is all about having the halo of futurism. His marketing scales especially well with tech gimmicks like this, which is why he is financially incentivised to do them, while others aren't. Again, I'm not hating, but actually educating yall. This is not engineering genius. It's marketing genius.
NEW: Tesla Roadster does a mid air summersault from a standstill. WHAT 🤯🤯🤯

I went to see Digger knowing nothing about it except it got terrible reviews. Only went because my wife wanted to see « Emma D’Arcy » in it. We may have forgotten what is the the soul of cinema. It took me 15 minutes to be convinced I hated it. And then everything shifts. Like a fabulous allegory of the power of «narrative », a concept the movie spends an hour and half torturing in a delicious manner. Rarely a movie took me through so many different emotions, swinging like a ball in a flipper. It’s not easy to watch. It’s demanding, and that is what is formidable about it. Tom Cruise delivers an astounding performance. The best I’ve ever seen from him. One scene in particular puts him at the firmament of acting and among the greatest to do ever do it. Go watch Digger. Form your own opinion. And even if you don’t like it, you can still say that at least, you’ve seen 2hrs of true inventive CINEMA.

NO.

All these posts about how AI is going to destroy Hollywood because soon you'll be able to make an entire feature film on your laptop with only a few prompts. What a bunch of bullshit. Leaving aside the fact that most of these reels people are posting look like hot garbage. We all know it's going to get better and better. Movies are still star driven. Tom Cruise might sell his likeness someday but you'll never be able to afford it and if you use it without permission you'll never be able to monetize it. Or you'll just get sued. What about animated or fully digital films? They still use actors whose names you all know to do the voices. Even AVATAR uses real actors for motion capture. Why? Because acting is a talent. But here's the part everybody forgets. If you have access to all this technology then so does Hollywood and their tech will always be much much better than yours. Suddenly, you're not competing with these bloated $100M+ productions. It gets cheaper and easier for them too. So any advantage you think you may have had has evaporated just like that. Anyway that's not the hard part. It never was. Movies are about more than spectacle. Otherwise we could sit there and watch car crashes and explosions for two hours. What's required is storytelling ability. Invest your time in learning that rather than the latest AI image generator. I have no doubt that these platforms will enable people to do amazing things with them. But at the end of the day the only ones who get rich off of this won't be you. It'll be the platforms themselves.

As a lifelong diehard football fan, this hurt more than watching my own team lose. Never seen a game so clearly rigged in my life. I’d rather watch my rival earn a ring fairly than watch any team be gifted a free one. It’s ruining the league 😪 #boycottsuperbowl #rigged
