My conviction is simple: the world is better when faith reminds us that we are all children of God and, therefore, brothers and sisters to one another.
It was my privilege to deliver these remarks as the closing keynote at the Forum On Faith this year at New York University. I titled my message “A World of Faith” to align with the evening’s theme, “From Dialogue to Repair: What Faith Can Do for a Fractured World.”
As the waters of the Solimões and Negro Rivers flow together to form the mighty Amazon, so our distinct gifts, joined in faith and charity, can carry hope far beyond our individual reach.
Together, as children of God, we can become a force for good in the world and help build a future marked by belonging, service, and hope.

We want to extend our sincere gratitude to everyone who has been part of our global mission. Reaching one million subscribers on YouTube is a significant milestone, but beyond the number lies a greater purpose: touching lives, inspiring faith, and sharing the messages of the gospel through music.
Across nations, cultures, and generations, your support has helped carry our music beyond borders and into the hearts of people around the world. Every listener, every share, and every life touched is a reminder of the responsibility and privilege we have been given.

Susan and I were overwhelmed by the love we felt as we looked back on the first 25 years of BYU-Idaho (@byuidaho) this weekend.
And while we appreciate the past, let us also embrace the future as disciples of Jesus Christ and witnesses of the kingdom of God rollingforth in all the world.

A groundbreaking ceremony for the Iquitos Peru Temple of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints was held on Saturday, October 10, 2026. The event was attended by government, interfaith, civic and educational leaders, as well as members of the Church.
“We are especially grateful for the construction of a temple in Iquitos and for the faith of those who have waited and worked for this glorious day to arrive,” said Elder Sandino Román, a member of the South America Northwest Area Presidency, in his dedicatory prayer. “Please bless the members of Thy Church in Iquitos, and may this construction bring blessings to the community and contribute to the well-being and prosperity of this city.”

The organ truly is the King of Instruments.
A few weeks ago, we welcomed organ virtuoso Kenneth Udy for a memorable evening of music, celebrating the incredible range, power, and beauty of the Tabernacle organ.
As part of the program, Kenneth chose to honor the musical legacy of Alexander Schreiner, who served as Tabernacle organist from 1924 to 1977. Several of Schreiner’s compositions were featured throughout the evening, creating a meaningful connection between the music of one of the Tabernacle’s most influential organists and the organ tradition that continues today.
From quiet, reverent passages to the full majesty of the organ, the evening was a beautiful reminder of the remarkable sound and artistry this instrument makes possible.
Want to experience the ‘King of Instruments’ for yourself? Join us for OrganFest XVII on Friday, October 30, at 7:30 p.m. in the Salt Lake Tabernacle on Temple Square. Come celebrate the music, artistry, and legacy of this extraordinary instrument!

A few weeks ago, we had the privilege of welcoming Dr. André J. Thomas to the Conference Center as a guest conductor with The Tabernacle Choir at Temple Square and Orchestra at Temple Square.
A celebrated conductor, composer, educator, and scholar of choral music, Dr. Thomas brought his experience and love of music to the Choir and Orchestra. His time with us was a wonderful opportunity to learn, create, and share music together.
We’re grateful for the opportunity to welcome artists like Dr. Thomas to Temple Square and to experience the unique connection that comes through making music together.

“He Hath Borne Our Griefs”: One of the most evocative and poignant depictions from the Savior’s life is detailed in Carl Bloch’s “The Mocking of Christ.”
You can see blood dropping down from the crown of thorns placed upon the Savior’s head. A soldier stands mocking Him in anger. Yet Christ is not fazed.
He’s looking past the man and not only looking past those who would mock Him, but He’s looking to us.
In this week’s "Come, Follow Me" lesson, we read Isaiah’s beautiful imagery of the sacrifice of our Savior, Jesus Christ:
“Surely he hath borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows: yet we did esteem him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted. But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed” (Isaiah 53:4–5).
I hope we can learn from these chapters in Isaiah and see the miracle of the Atonement of Jesus Christ in our lives.

I have spent my entire adult life with young people—including seven-and-a-half years as president of BYU-Idaho.
Susan and I are beyond thrilled to participate in activities this week at the university as we commemorate the 25th anniversary of this remarkable institution of higher education.
You students at BYU-I (@byuidaho) and our other young members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints are wonderful disciples of the Savior. Please do not be too hard on yourselves.
Be worthy. Be available.
Put the Lord first and all the other parts of life will fall into place.
