Production up 60%, new markets, better prices!
A delegation from NORAD and Norwegian Church Aid Headquarters visited Bhannine, Minnieh, to see the impact of the Economic Development and Food Security Project.
Thanks to training, coaching, and equipment from RMF, farmers like Chafika, a farmer for 30 years, are producing more and using less water.
The delegation also visited a greenhouse demo plot cultivated in coco peat, an innovative climate-smart solution that improves water efficiency, addresses soil degradation, and strengthens farmers’ resilience to climate change.
افتتاح "مركز أركان وهند السبلاني الطبّي" في مستشفى بعلبك الحكومي وذلك في خطوة تنموية واستشفائية نوعية لمنطقة بعلبك- الهرمل تهدف إلى تخفيف أعباء الطبابة والتنقل عن كاهل الأهالي.
ساهمت مؤسسة رينه معوض في التمويل والإشراف الهندسي الكامل، وقدمت المخططات والخرائط التنفيذية مجاناً.
جرى حفل الافتتاح برعاية وحضور وزير الصحة العامة ركان ناصر الدين، مارييل معوّض عقيلة رئيس مؤسسة رينه معوض النائب ميشال معوّض، والمدير العام للمؤسسة نبيل معوّض، والمدير الإداري والمالي حنا معوّض، مدير المستشفى الدكتور عباس شكر، الى جانب أركان السبلاني وافراد عائلته الذين مولوا المشروع ونفذته المؤسسة.
Lebanon at Fruit Attraction 2026 – Strengthening Agricultural Market Linkages
Lebanon participated in Fruit Attraction 2026, held from 6 to 8 October at IFEMA Madrid, with 10 Lebanese companies and organizations showcasing the diversity of the country's agricultural and agri-food sector across nine product categories: table grapes avocados, cherries, apples, carrots, garlic, onions, traditional processed foods, and tissue culture plants.
The Lebanese pavilion was inaugurated under the patronage of Dr. Nizar Hani, Minister of Agriculture, who attended the opening alongside Lebanon's Ambassador to Spain, Hani Shmeitelli, and the Director General of Agriculture, Eng. Louis Lahoud.
The Lebanese pavilion was co-organized by the Federation of Chambers of Commerce, Industry and Agriculture in Lebanon (FCCIAL) and the René Moawad Foundation (RMF) through the SADDER project, funded by the Kingdom of the Netherlands.

في عكّار، يستفيد غسان من تدريب على الزراعة الآمنة ومستلزمات زراعية تقدّمها مؤسسة رينه معوض، ليحمي صحته، ويحسّن إنتاجه، ويواصل العمل في أرضه.
يُنَفَّذ هذا النشاط بالشراكة مع منظمة العون الكنسي النرويجي وبتمويل من الوكالة النرويجية للتنمية الدولية.
Four participants of the Productive Economic Inclusion in Lebanon (PEIL) program, all beneficiaries of AMAN, the Emergency Social Safety Net Program, met today at the Social Development Center (SDC) in Bourj Hammoud with a World Bank delegation. Around the table were Keiko Inoue, Regional Practice Director for Human Development for MENAAP, Cristobal Ridao-Cano, Regional Practice Manager for Social Protection and Jobs, Sara Hariz, Task Team Leader of AMAN, the Emergency Social Safety Net Program Senior Social Protection Specialist and Angela Elzir Assy, Senior Labor Market and Social Protection Specialist.
The participants told their story in their own words: what they learned, the assets they received, and the livelihoods they are building as a result. Listening to them, Ms. Inoue pointed to what Lebanon's youth bring: energy, dynamism, and the will to keep going.
PEIL is implemented by the Ministry of Social Affairs and the René Moawad Foundation in partnership with the World Bank, and funded by the Japan Social Development Fund.
التقى أربعة من المشاركين في برنامج الإدماج الاقتصادي المنتج في لبنان (PEIL)، وجميعهم من المستفيدين من برنامج «أمان» لشبكة الأمان الاجتماعي الطارئة، وفدًا من البنك الدولي في مركز الخدمات الإنمائية في برج حمود.
ضمّ اللقاء كيكو إينوي، المديرة الإقليمية لقطاع التنمية البشرية في منطقة الشرق الأوسط وشمال أفريقيا وأفغانستان وباكستان؛ وكريستوبال ريداو-كانو، المدير الإقليمي لقطاع الحماية الاجتماعية والعمل؛ وسارة حريز، رئيسة فريق عمل برنامج «أمان» وكبيرة اختصاصيي الحماية الاجتماعية؛ وأنجيلا الزير عاصي، كبيرة اختصاصيي سوق العمل والحماية الاجتماعية.
روى المشاركون تجاربهم بكلماتهم، وتحدّثوا عمّا تعلّموه، والأصول الإنتاجية التي تلقّوها، وسبل العيش التي يعملون على بنائها بفضل هذا الدعم. وفي معرض استماعها إلى قصصهم، أشادت السيدة إينوي بما يحمله شباب لبنان من طاقة وحيوية وإرادة للمضيّ قدمًا.
تُنفّذ وزارة الشؤون الاجتماعية ومؤسسة رينه معوض برنامج الإدماج الاقتصادي المنتج في لبنان، بالشراكة مع البنك الدولي وبتمويل من الصندوق الياباني للتنمية الاجتماعية.
The René Moawad Foundation extends its deepest condolences to the family, friends, and colleagues of Ambassador Vincent Battle.
Ambassador Battle served as U.S. Ambassador to Lebanon from 2001 to 2004 and as Deputy Chief of Mission at the U.S. Embassy in Beirut from 1991 to 1994.
After retirement he served on the Board of the René Moawad Foundation (RMFUSA) for many years and was deeply committed to advancing its cause and mission.
He will be remembered fondly by all of us.
