AI data centers are gross because they require a vast amount of potable water for cooling. They lose most of this water to evaporation. The remaining water contains concentrations of minerals, salt, and dissolved solids. It eventually gets treated and dumped into municipal water treatment plants.
Even though the earth over covered with water, less than 1% is potable.
Water, along with electricity, will be a resource humans will have to compete with data centers for. Which will have priority, humans or data centers?
This is extremely short-sighted on the part of homeowners. If you want your home to retain value, you should want good public schools, well maintained roads, and functioning water and sewer systems in your community.
“I’m old. I’ve paid my home off,” said Ray Warner, a 72-year-old Akron resident. “Why would I pay property tax?”
Across the country, homeowners are asking the same question and revolting against property taxes at a scale not seen in a half century.

I’ll be honest: I’m a little frustrated that I can’t vote for Dr. Abdul El-Sayed. That’s on me. I chose to live in Maryland instead of Michigan.😄
He strikes me as incredibly smart, remarkably articulate, and a kind and decent man. That he’s Muslim is, to me, a plus. Considering how many Muslims there are in the world, having one serve as a U.S. Senator would be a superpower.

It was fun today preaching truth to the Salary Cap Cultists.
Still have lots more work to do to save them from themselves
See you tomorrow
The only way the consumer can feel assured the contents are "untouched" is that before the box leaves the factory, it's sealed in watermarked plastic.
Topps Fanatics will now remove that plastic.
If you don't like that, just buy your licensed NFL cards from another manufacturer. Except, you can't. Topps Fanatics has an anti-competitive, monopolistic deal with the NFL and the NFLPA giving them the exclusive rights to make NFL cards.
When a company abuses its monopolist power in the marketplace, this is what it looks like. Just embrace the suck. #Topps #Fanatics #NFL

I somehow missed this one.
I remember way back when this all started, before the ACF takeover, I expressed frustration online with his behaviour and what I thought it meant for WordPress. An old friend, or at least I thought, formerly from Automattic and my old Vancouver days, basically told me I was way off and that Matt was a good guy and saving open source or something to that effect. Not long after he said I had one more response where I could say anything, and then he was blocking me forever, which he did.
And since that time we’ve had the ACF takeover, the WPE tracker, the preliminary injunction, all the friendly tweets like “sorry, who are you?” The block fest of key contributors. The recent invitations for core contributors to go contribute somewhere else. The board takeover. The pineapple on pizza box. The list goes on and one, and we aren’t even at trial yet.
It still boggles my mind that this person represents one of the most important open source projects in history, and the contempt he seems to show for so many people and organizations, like sponsors here, that all helped make it possible. It’s all sad and tragic really.
I used to look at contributing to this project as something to be proud of. Now it seems more akin to exploitation if I’m honest. The countless people who donated time and effort to what ended up being just Matt’s site, the sponsors that Matt doesn’t seem to care too much about, and all core contributors mostly just tossed aside like what happened the other day in the accessibility group. It all seems like such wasted effort now.

🚨Boston Card Hunter SUED for defamation.
The outspoken hobby watchdog likely has had his bite taken away for good.
The lawsuit filed against him in Indiana by a small creator is one of the FEW hobby lawsuits that has some merit.
Here is what happened:
This spring, Boston Card Hunter told his audience that a custom card artist from Indiana had called his house and threatened to kill his family.
A serious allegation.
By June, Boston Card Hunter admitted in writing that he had no evidence for it.
Read that again. In writing, Boston Card Hunter says he didn't have any basis to say that on camera.
The artist, who has about 1,000 followers on Instagram, was unsatisfied with any half-hearted apology via email and kept going at Boston Card Hunter throughout the summer, tagging him in posts, making memes, etc.
Most of those posts garnered only a small audience.
But in September, apparently sick of the criticism, Boston Card Hunter had his lawyer send a cease and desist letter to the guy.
➡️ That was a HUGE mistake.
Less than a week later, Boston Card Hunter was hit with a defamation lawsuit.
And now the two sides are talking through lawyers — and the one thing both of them seem to agree on is that the accusation should never have been made by Boston Card Hunter.
➡️ Why this is a bad spot for Boston Card Hunter
We are not self proclaimed hobby lawyers. But you do not need to be one to see the shape of this.
Accusing someone of a crime is the easiest kind of defamation to prove.
Boston Card Hunter tagged the artist in a video titled "Someone Threatened Me & My Family."
In the video he spoke for more than two minutes about who he believed made the calls — and put a specific small artist's Instagram handle on screen while he did it.
But months later Boston Card Hunter said in writing he had "no evidence" connecting the artist to the calls.
Yikes.
In addition, because Boston Card Hunter went after such a small creator it really hurts him in this case.
The guy suing Boston Card Hunter has fewer than 750 followers on X.
He will likely argue he is a private figure, and a court will probably agree.
That matters because a private figure only has to show the speaker was careless — not that he knowingly lied.
That's really, really bad for Boston Card Hunter.
➡️ But there is more.
Burlington, Massachusetts police logs show at least three entries tied to Boston Card Hunter's address in April alone — two where he reported receiving threats himself, and one where another hobbyist reported him for harassment.
According to one written complaint, Boston Card Hunter called a collector unprompted over the collector's criticism of Fanatics, talked for 19 minutes, and described himself as "the Ray Donovan of Fanatics."
The collector filed a harassment report with Burlington police in April.
➡️ What happens next
Boston Card Hunter was served the week of October 5. Under Indiana rules he has about 20 days to respond, which puts the deadline in the last week of October.
No matter what happens, it will cost Boston Card Hunter money and will likely change his tune for the foreseeable future.
Just last week, Boston Card Hunter posted three times mentioning how his tone and content will now shift.
While he claims it's to not make "boring and repetitive" videos… the truth is probably something different.
In the cease and desist letter, Boston Card Hunter's lawyer wrote: "As a direct and proximate result of your interference, Mr. Andrews has suffered demonstrable economic harm, including a significant reduction in the frequency of his livestream programming and associated lost revenue."
Sports Card Radio has sent written questions to Boston Card Hunter's attorney.
Any response will be published in full. Nothing in the lawsuit has been proven in court.

Have we considered the possibility that Zelensky and Ukraine started the war with Russia specifically to sabotage President Trump and the GOP’s 2026 midterm hopes?
I feel like we can’t rule this out.

From the comments on this post, it's clear that many people in the card-collecting community lack a basic understanding of PSA grading and what each grade means.
Dunning-Kruger effect is in full force in the comments.
Each number means something different. The highest grade PSA can give a creased card is a 4. For this card to get a 7, either PSA grossly misgraded this card, or the label is fake. The vendor said he knew the card was creased.
@_bismack_ is right. The vendor is a dirtbag.
There are some real dirtbags vending.
Was looking at a PSA 7 slab stickered at ~ $1,000.
I notice a small but visible crease on the card, showed the vendor.
"Oh yeah I know it's there."
Never brought it up during conversation, not marked on the the sticker, just hoping I wouldn't see it.
