Published today, this book (ed. by the wonderful @RITmuse) examines how the modification, destruction, or absence of monuments & memorials can be viewed as performative acts that challenge prescribed, embodied narratives in the public realm routledge.com/Fallen-Monumen… @RoutledgeHist

My Nokia phone was with me one night in 1999 as I drove home from work at @amhistorymuseum. To my surprise, the mostly silent phone sprang to life—a colleague had a collecting question. I knew that small grey device would speak up more often, blurring lines between work and home.

I'm just a guy from Belleville trying to make it in the big city. It is an honor to know my family's name is part of Belleville's future; this community is such an important part of our history. What a joy to share this day with members of Belleville High School Class of 1970!
