Harry Kane met Katie Goodland at the school they both attended. When they were around 11 years old, David Beckham opened a football academy in London, where this famous photo of the two of them was taken. 📸
She has been his biggest supporter, standing by his side long before the fame and success.
And now, she was right there beside him as he won the 𝗕𝗔𝗟𝗟𝗢𝗡 𝗗'𝗢𝗥. 🏆
In his speech, Kane made sure to thank her, too:
“To my wife, Kate, my best friend. We've been through ups and downs. You're my biggest supporter. I actually felt like you wanted this more than me myself.” 😅
“The anxious wait for us to find out, I know it's been horrible for you. Here it is. 𝗪𝗘'𝗩𝗘 𝗗𝗢𝗡𝗘 𝗜𝗧!"
“You always want the best for me, you sacrifice yourself to help me achieve my dreams, and I know they're your dreams as well, so it wouldn't be possible without you.”
Beautiful stories only football can write. 🥹❤️

Anyone who has spent any time watching Lee Carsley's u21s will know that English players can play ball and win.
As always, the way a team plays is defined by their shared intentions, which, to a large degree, are shaped by the coach's methods.

Lee Carsley, England’s U21 manager, pushed back on that last comment, though.
He said in the past England have not been respected at youth level for having technically gifted players that can control matches.
In their past two tournaments they’ve shown that’s an outdated idea

I could listen to Luis Enrique talk football all day.
A man who knows you don’t ever have football ever fully figured out.
He has coaching humility.

🚨 🎙️Anthony Gordon on the difference between La Liga and the Premier League after Barcelona’s victory over Rayo Vallecano:
🗣️ “I’m not going to deny that the Premier League is incredibly intense — it absolutely is. The pace is relentless, there are physical battles everywhere, long throws, corners, and plenty of contact. That’s why many English players believe it’s the best league in the world. They’re accustomed to that kind of chaos.
“But football in Spain is different. Rayo sat deep and tried to make the game difficult, something you also see from many mid-table Premier League teams. The difference is that we didn’t simply resort to long balls or depend on set pieces. We moved the ball, Pedri found spaces between the lines, Lamine and the others created numerical advantages, and we patiently broke them down through our football.
“In England, sometimes the intensity can cover up mistakes. You can miscontrol the ball and still recover by winning the next physical battle. Here, a poor first touch or a lack of concentration in your positioning can immediately punish you. The spaces are smaller, decisions have to be quicker, and everything needs to be cleaner.
“My pace becomes even more effective here because the movement around me creates opportunities and space, rather than everyone simply running forward in straight lines.
“I loved playing in the Premier League and it played a huge part in developing me. But Spanish football demands a different level of tactical and technical intelligence. Some Premier League teams would struggle to play this style consistently because they may not have the patience or midfield quality required.
“That’s not disrespect it’s simply what I’ve noticed from my first few games. There’s a different kind of football intelligence here.”

GENIUS LEAVES CLUES.
The success of Unai Emery as a coach, and the success Aston Villa have experienced under his leadership, is no fluke.
It comes from RELENTLESS HARD WORK.
Meetings lasting an hour and a half, sometimes two hours, analysing games, studying players, breaking down habits, reviewing details and constantly looking for ways to improve.
Some people will say that is too much.
At that level, it is their profession.
They are paid to perform.
They are paid to improve.
They are paid to go above and beyond in the pursuit of becoming better.
And this is the part people need to understand.
When players want to leave an environment like Aston Villa, sometimes it will be the players who are struggling to live inside an environment that is completely OBSESSED with performance, improvement and the game.
High standards are not for everyone.
The standards of the manager shape the standards of the environment.
The standards of the environment shape the people who remain inside it.
If Aston Villa have a 12:30pm kick off, Emery can have the players in at 8:30am, refreshing their minds, creating pictures of what they are about to face and making sure they are mentally prepared for the opposition.
DETAIL.
DETAIL.
DETAIL.
Nothing left to chance.
That is what elite performance looks like.
Too many people are involved in football because of what they can GET from the game.
Recognition.
Status.
Opportunities.
Connections.
But you can spot the real ones a mile away.
They are consumed by the craft.
They study.
They learn.
They question.
They prepare.
They improve.
They are relentlessly obsessed with becoming better at what they do, every single day.
Gone to to the game for the love of the game 🔥⚽
