(1/3) Hi #sciencetwitter! We are the Brain Science Institute (#BSI) housed within @ChicagoMedEdu @RFUniversity. Our mission is to identify and solve fundamental aspects of brain function and development and to use these discoveries to understand the mechanisms of brain diseases.
Excellent research is being accomplished at RFU! We are so proud 🙌👏 #BSI
Drs. Jeremy “Amiel” Rosenkranz, Rahul Vijay and Weihang “Valerie” Chai have been awarded approximately $9.8 million in funding from @NIH for research projects related to brain function and diseases, cancer and parasitic infections. rosalindfranklin.edu/news/ni…

New lab preprint🥳🧠: biorxiv.org/content/10.1101/…
The effects of vasopressin (AVP) and oxytocin on BNST excitability and behaviors are driven by input specificity and cell-type-receptor selectivity. AVP, exogenous or light-evoked, excites BNST neurons, which requires OTR, while V1aR
Daniel A. Peterson, PhD, professor and director, Center for Stem Cell and Regenerative Medicine, received a two-year, $429,925 NIH grant for his research study “Generation of Parkinson-Derived Human Glial Progenitor Cells for Dopaminergic Neuronal Conversion.” 👏
Congrats to the Frost lab on their publication in the Journal of Neurophysiology! Surprising multifunctionality of a Tritonia swim CPG neuron:
