I did a rough estimate.
If each AI1 weighs around 4 tons, it would take about 90 Starship launches to double SpaceXAI’s current compute.
Around 1,100 launches could add as much AI compute as the entire world has today.
If the Louisiana Starship base really gets to 30 launches a day, that is only about 37 days.
This is why space compute could get insane.
Sunlight is free. You do not need to keep buying more land and building more power plants next to data centers.
The cost per token could fall to ridiculous levels.
Everyone gets access to huge amounts of compute.
At that point, every person starts to look like a super-individual.
Almost unlimited intelligence, available to everyone.

1 October is looking like a very busy day for @SpaceX if this schedule holds up! And just 3 days before we could see the first orbital Starship launch too. Just a prelude to what the future daily launch scheduled might be like!
1. We will keep accelerating. Our AI efforts are only 3 years old, vs 6 and 10 years old for Anthropic and OpenAI. If our second derivative remains strong, SpaceX will reach pole position in about 6 months.
2. Once you far exceed the caliber of intelligence needed for a class of tasks, additional intelligence is pointless. You don’t need (and it would be cruel to put) Newton-level intelligence in your toaster!
3. Hardware is hard. Bringing massive compute online rapidly is incredibly difficult. SpaceX has demonstrated exceptional ability in this regard and will only get better.

Starship flight 14 full stack has completed wet dress rehearsal testing this morning. A short activation of the water deluge system is visible here simulating the moments just before ignition. Starship flight 14 is now at T-minus 3 days 19 hours and counting!
