⚡ The Julius Nyerere Hydropower Project has been quietly transforming Tanzania's energy supply since its ninth and final turbine came online in March 2025. As of this year, JNHPP alone supplies nearly 45% of all electricity on the national grid. The question is no longer only, “Can we generate enough power? 📢 Earlier yesterday, we hosted a Public Seminar on International Trade and Structural Change in Tanzania. The seminar presented research findings on how international trade has shaped labour productivity and structural transformation in the country. 📊 The findings show that while exports have helped improve productivity within sectors, more is needed to support the movement of labour into higher-productivity activities and strengthen job creation.
