We started to 3D print replacement part packaging and wound up saving a lot of money.
We fed the replacement part CAD into Astra, tested a core latching design and tolerancing, then let it rip for our current products and made a skill for any future ones.
The T1R laser alignment is great for grabbing surfaces and other features that other ways would be difficult to target using a tape measure alone. No eyeballing needed, just accurate measurements.

One of the ways I keep myself accountable at @REEKONTools is making a monthly update deck on the state of the business.
At a more typical VC backed company, this would be covered in investor updates or board decks that are produced.
As a bootstrapped company, we have neither but I find it helpful to make as if we did to keep track on high level goals, accomplishments, problems and more.
No one sees this or reviews it but I use it to keep accountable both for prior months as to what mistakes and successes we had, future months for goal planning, and mapping finances/people/product launches.
Like many of our decks, I enjoy using our extensive media library for the cover photos of each month and got to feature an inevitable future executive on August's cover!

The next chapter of REEKON Tools is coming and we are looking for an Electrical Systems Design Engineer to join the team!
One of REEKON's core goals has always revolved around the idea of accessibility of tools to make data capture and layout faster and easier on construction projects big and small.
The first part of our execution revolved around a line of handheld tools and robustly digitizing them and using novel sensors combined with a fully custom factory software/hardware platform to make them accessible to the masses.
With 100,000s of tools in the field being used by pros every day, next product lineup builds on this foundation and will significantly expand the capabilities of measurement, layout, and marking on projects.
This will be an exciting role taking ownership and autonomy as we develop new products, sensors, and integration of a completely new class of tools.
