Starting the week with a crate full of rotor shaft assemblies, straight off the Star ST-38. 🤩 Its three #turrets handle multiple operations at once, while the #FMBloader keeps fresh bars coming, reducing the need for manual reloading and keeping production moving.

You can never have too many Star #CNC Sliding Heads! We’ve certainly put that to the test, with 19 #StarMicronics sliding head #machining centres on the shop floor. Between them, they cover diameters from 2mm to 40mm, all fitted with Fanuc controls & 3 metre bar loaders.

𝙊𝙝 Brother, these #manifoldblocks have come out well. 😮‍💨 Manifold blocks have plenty of features to machine, but the Brother Speedio R650X2 tooling capacity, work envelope and pallet and fixture options lets us bring more of the work into one controlled process.

With 19 Star CNC Sliding Heads, alongside our other #CNCmachining processes, having the right quality processes in place like our quality control and inspection department, makes sure quality doesn’t get lost in the volume. #UKMfg

Looks like these two get on pretty well.👌 Our #Biglia #twinspindle #CNCturningcentres, paired with #Hydrafeed bar feeders, can machine both ends of a component in one setup, meaning less moving parts around and more time spent actually machining.

We wouldn’t want to end the working week any other way than with this view! Having this capacity allows us to meet customer deadlines and keep lead times on track, and it’s a big part of why we keep investing in Star CNC sliding head technology. 👏 #StarMicronics

We’re getting stuck into the setup of our Star ST-38 for this morning's job! Getting the setup right is important when #machining repeat runs of #turnedcomponents to tight tolerances, as each part needs to come off the machine consistently. #UKMfg

Quality is fundamental to what we do at RDL! Our Quality Manager, Rob Hibbert, has completed BSI training on the #ISO 9001:2026 revision, giving us a better understanding of the changes and how they affect our quality management system. 👌

End of week quality checks on the VICIVISION 309 PRIMA 3D Shaft #ScanningSystem! It measures diameters, lengths, grooves, radii and chamfers in a single cycle, giving us a quick and accurate way to monitor components coming off our sliding-head machines. #UKMfg

We have 6 Star sliding-head machines with 32mm dia capacity, giving us the capability for repeat production, fewer separate set-ups & consistency across the full batch. For our customers, that means dependable capacity for repeat orders! #CNCSlidingHead #CNCMachining #UKMfg

Before moving on to coating or assembly, each batch is cleaned to remove residual oil, coolant and swarf from the machining process. The controlled wash cycle leaves the components clean, dry and ready for the next operation - well worth the wait!
