The Laoch an Chúrsa award for the 07 Army Reserve Potential NCO Course was presented by Ken Griffin, Chairperson of the RDFRA 1BDE Formation Committee on behalf of RDFRA. Congratulations and BZ to Pte Cameron Conlon (6 Inf Bn.) who received this award!
This is awarded to the student from the course who best embodied the ethos and values of the Defence Forces - Respect, Loyalty, Selflessness, Physical Courage, Moral Courage, and Integrity.
Over the weekend, RDFRA held its Annual Delegate Conference. Updates on RDFRA activity were provided to Unit Representatives. Policy Motions proposed by Unit Reps, as well as updates to the RDFRA Constitution, were discussed and voted on.
Details of adopted policies will be posted by email to all members over the coming days, and the updated RDFRA policy will be updated at rdfra.ie/policy
RDFRA is very pleased to see the distribution of a new Guidance Document from the Office of Reserve Affairs, through the Chain of Command to RDF units on the matter of administration of Support Activities.
An announcement of the new guidance is available for serving members on the ORA Workvivo page. This finally provides proper mechanisms, through the mechanism of Supplemental Military Service, to enable routine paid support activities on a proper legislative basis within Ireland.
This International Women's Day, RDFRA are delighted to see the wide acknowledgement of the important service of women in the Permanent and Reserve Defence Forces. BZ to Lt Curran and Sgt Hennessy for presenting this important message from the Reserve Strategic Engagement Team
Bravo Zulu from RDFRA to Father Paul Murphy DSM, Corporal Daniel Padden DSM, Private Ciara Shanahan DSM and Private Dylan Geraghty DSM who were awarded the Distinguished Service Medal in this morning's ceremony.
In attendance on behalf of RDFRA was Vice Chairperson, Marie Quaid.
1/ RDFRA has recently received some difficult news about our member and comrade Mariusz Oplawski of the Naval Service Reserve. Mariusz was diagnosed with stage 4 cancer in December of last year, and is currently undergoing specialist treatment in Poland.
2/ Mariusz is well liked and respected by his comrades across the Defence Forces from his dedicated service to the Reserve Defence Force, alongside comrades of the Permanent Naval Service at sea, and as a member of the Defence Forces Parachute Club.

3/ Any support you are able to give, by donating and sharing this post, will be greatly appreciated by Mariusz and his family.
