Almost every candidate this cycle is trying to address the issue of rising costs that have battered families in the post-Covid era, yet how many are addressing the reason why things have become more expensive in the first place?
The institutionalization of massive borrowing and spending is a formula for persistent inflation and declining purchasing power.

WATTERS: “If Bernie were around 100 years ago, he probably would’ve demanded Henry Ford stop building cars while he stood next to a horse.”
🚨🚨 Socialists Bernie Sanders and Greg Casar just introduced the “Ban Artificial Superintelligence Act.”
Here’s what it would do:
• Ban AI the government deems to surpass human intelligence
• Pause advanced AI development
• Make D.C. bureaucrats the gatekeepers and create a new Department of AI
• Threaten developers with up to 20 years in prison
The proposal would freeze America’s leading AI labs while China keeps building, let Washington pick winners and losers in AI development, and impose criminal penalties on developers who build systems the government deems too advanced.
The test for every AI policy: does it make America stronger, safer, and richer?
This bill clearly fails.

Palantir CEO Alex Karp says Peter Thiel is so misunderstood in Europe that Germany effectively lost their most successful investor:
"I think the treatment of Peter is atrocious."
"I think the question historically one would have asked in Germany is: can we afford this? Can we afford not to learn from this person?"
"The German tech scene should be #2 in the world by any historical standard. Honestly, the German tech scene was the #1 in the world, so #2 is already, like, maybe shouldn't be the aspiration."
"It's on no one's list."
" The largest company in Germany by market cap, I think, is Siemens, and Palantir is significantly larger, even where we're obviously undervalued currently."
"I've known Peter Since we were poor students at Stanford. We had conversations as poor students fighting about intellectual things. He was always heterodox right. I was always heterodox left. I don't think much has changed. He's still heterodox right, meaning he's very frustrating to classic Republicans."
"He's never been a neocon. He actually does not really believe in classic Republican economic theory. He was the first person to flag and will always flag—you tend to have people on the right basically explaining all problems as the result of capitalism not being driven far enough."
" That's just not Peter's view."
"He's not a simplistic or a caricature thinker on the right. And he's definitely not the caricature that the left wants to present."
"But what's fascinating to me is—why is it so important to spend so much time blocking Peter from the German market?"
"It's so obviously thin what they're saying about him, what they say about Palantir, so obviously doesn't make sense on the merits. You only need 10 minutes, 5 minutes on Google to see this isn't true."

🚨 JUST IN: Elon Musk just said if Anthropic and OpenAI people are warning that the models are “very dangerous,” we should believe them. Then he mocked the pitch. A 10 PERCENT chance of annihilating humanity… and how much of the IPO would you like?
Fox’s guest nailed the real game. Tech oligarchs scream doomsday, then beg Washington for a regulatory scheme that locks competitors out.
THIS IS NOT SAFETY. THIS IS A MONOPOLY PLAY.
Obama, Kamala Harris, Hakeem Jeffries, and Chuck Schumer are all pushing the same “regulate AI” line. Schumer’s own daughter works at one of these companies. Whoever controls the algorithms controls politics. The same crowd that censored COVID debate now wants the keys to the next information gate.
Protect innovation. Block the Democrat-aligned AI cartel. Do not hand them a government-sanctioned monopoly.

Chamath @chamath: how does an account with no followers get 110 million views in a day?
David Sacks @DavidSacks had an answer, on the same All-In @theallinpod taping. Within 15 minutes of the Anthropic researcher's doomsday resignation post, three policy groups amplified it: ENCODE AI's Nathan Calvin, the AI Policy Network's Peter Wildeford, and the AI Futures Project's Daniel Kokotajlo, who dropped a Rogan episode the same day using the same phrasing. All three groups are funded by Jaan Tallinn, who co-led Anthropic's Series A. The Wall Street Journal published a story on the resignation minutes before the tweets went out, meaning the paper had been briefed under embargo. The researcher had agreed to appear on the show and cancelled the morning of taping.

😳 Brad Gerstner on the ex-Anthropic researcher who told America AI could end humanity in three years:
"To go on national television in a highly coordinated way and sit in the living room on NBC, on ABC, on CBS, on Fox, and have a single researcher who spent six weeks at Anthropic tell the moms and dads of America that this can kill all of humanity in the next three years without any countervailing conversation is deeply irresponsible.
Jensen Huang yesterday called it deeply untrue. Andrew Feldman, the founder of Cerebras, who spent decades studying this, called it utter horseshit. Elon himself said it was a coordinated psyop."
