Update on Mom and Me — Mom is still in rehab with modest improvement and more strength, but her right leg is not weight-bearing yet. Insurance wanted her discharged; we appealed, and a third-party physician disagreed, so she stays for now. Please keep her in your prayers. I now have a prosthesis — not perfect, but better than an eye patch. Grateful to the Ocular Melanoma Foundation for a full grant. Bills keep coming for metastasis scans, and more will follow. Update on Mom and Me — Mom is on day 10 of rehab with modest progress after breaking her leg in three places. Orthopedist appointment next Wednesday should tell us more. Insurance covers 20 days, then a daily copay. We’re already looking for a place she can afford if she can’t go home. My focus is her care — bills, insurance, facilities, paperwork.
