we live in the future and many outside the tech bubble wouldn't even know about it. I'm serious - ask your friends who are not on X if reusable rockets are already real or still only being tested. Tried it this week and was shocked how few people knew about the reality of SpaceX...
SpaceX has launched every rocket in their lineup, 3 different vehicles, from 4 different pads, in 3 different states this week. They also lifted basically every “category” of payload. Starlink, Crew, Commercial, and Military. WHAT. A. WEEK.

To repeat: reconsider everything you thought about these models 4-6 months ago. How much to review, what mistakes they make, how you write prompts, how much troubke they'll have understanding or changing code.

Grok @bot and @cursor_ai just paid for themselves multiple times over: My costs for running readbetter.io had run away a bit... A combination of more usage, some unfixed bugs, wrong config etc. I tasked Grok Bot with analyzing the logs, fixing bugs, making the stack more efficient - it spun up a bunch of Cloud Agents and opened up a bunch of PRs for me to review. Result: ~$175/m saved in email & server costs. Can you spot the change in the charts? 😅

Perfect Sunday - half the day biking and building sandcastles with the kiddo and then 9 holes with a view in perfectly warm German autumn!

the gap between what you can get done with AI and the newest tools and what most employees at big companies experience every day is soooo enormous, it‘s not even funny. - whenever I talk to friends who have ‚normal‘ knowledge work jobs in big companies, I ask them how they use AI and which tools - answer in most cases is ‚not much‘ and ‚Microsoft Copilot‘, maybe sometimes regular ChatGPT or Claude - few people are even on pro plans - MCP nobody has ever heard of outside of the tech bubble - people ‚work‘ with AI the way we folks in tech chatted with ChatGPT in November 22 - only thing they have the newer models now and some automatic tool use (mostly web search) we are still so early, incredible

Didn't believe it either, but turns out you can boost your MacBook's performance by 20%(!) by sticking a $20 thermal pad under the lid. Takes 5min and makes a MacBook Air perform almost as well as a Pro. Look up "macbook thermal pad mod."

time to pull my old Lego crates out!
Opus 5.5 designing LEGO 👀 I asked it to design a Microduck I can build with real LEGO pieces. It: > designed it life-size using 1113 real LEGO parts > verified: 3,204 connections, 0 collisions, every step buildable, centre of mass inside the feet 🤯 > made a 141-page LEGO-style booklet (237 steps) > priced every piece in the browser and prepared the orders on BrickLink

looks like we‘re asleep at the wheel
Some data we recently assembled on entrepreneurship/compute in Europe: eudata.vercel.app. We hope that one of the useful roles that Stripe can play is in collecting and publishing empirical data pertaining to entrepreneurship and industry in Europe. There's growing appetite to get Europe on a better footing, and cross-sectional comparisons can often shine light on where opportunities lie. If you're interested in this kind of thing, we publish more at stripeeconomics.substack.com.

If you're still not sure if things are accelerating, just note that the arrival of the first reasoning models was just ~24months ago...
