Rocco&Bear82

We debated posting this. Mom’s angry, disgusted, & 💔. This beautiful boy was adopted out in late 2022. Updates were wonderful for over a year. Friday we get a call that Butters was picked up stray by Animal Control. Repeated attempts to contact adopters by phone number (verified as still accurate by their vet), emails, texts went unanswered. Apparently they “rehomed him” last year (per their vet). Our contract requires dogs come back to rescue unless we vet and approve a rehoming. We invest our time, funds, energy & heart into every dog we rescue. We commit to them. We expect adopters to commit to them. Or if they can’t, we will get them. We understand life happens. There are valid reasons to return a pup. It’s not about that. But treat them like they matter! A simple email to us and we’d arrange to get him. We drove 7 hours to pick up Butters. We cannot fathom how anyone can do this to a dog they’ve had a couple years, particularly ignore the calls about him being found stray. Have you no conscience? We feel we somehow failed him. We are sorry Butters. 🥹 You do matter.
