Potential is common.
Commitment is rare.
As we approach the last day of school, it's important to remember that not all students look forward to summer break. Many students and those caring for them are feeling fear & anxiety over food insecurity, being home alone, etc. School may be considered their safe place.
The 2024 #BridgingBears2Bruins program came to a close with our high school friends from @CACC_CPS visiting us at RBE.
Thank you for another great year @GinaGreenplate and your students! Good luck on the next step Seniors! #CPSBest #CACCBest

Here's an awesome tip for helping children with their reading. Did you know that putting subtitles/captions on kids' shows massively improves their levels of literacy? Here's a little video of me explaining it. Feel free to share with your friends. #turnonthesubtitles

In the remaining days of school, you may see some out of character behaviors from some students. Remember that not all students look forward to summer break. For some students, school is their safe place… where they receive consistent food, where they feel most successful, where they are surrounded by kindness and love, and where they can just be themselves. All behaviors are communication. Respond first with empathy and compassion. Thank you for everything you do for our kids! Have an amazing and well-deserved summer break!
I will be traveling the country providing “Maslow Before Bloom” trainings this Summer and Fall. I would love to come to your school or district. Please message or email me for more info [email protected].
