For those wondering, Planet Fitness keeps its gyms at 72 degrees. 🌡️
The American Record stays. Here's why: 60 with a dew point of 55...at 7am...Building to 65 with the same dew point... They'd have to be in 2:02:30-2:03:30 fitness to run under the American Record. Could I be wrong? Wouldn't be the first time... but I don't see that level of fitness from Americans just yet. Not from those in Chicago. If the weather holds... so does the American Record.

We had a good thing, you stupid son of a bitch. We had the mortgage. We had the score. We had the one number every lender in America was too scared to close a loan without. Thirty years. Thirty years, nobody could touch you. You could’ve shut your mouth, raised prices bit by bit, and made as much money as anyone ever needed. It was perfect. But no — you had to jack it 17x in five years. You and your pride and your earnings calls. You just had to squeeze every drop. You just had to be the man. If you'd known your place and let the pennies roll in, we'd all be fine right now. Instead, VantageScore's through the door, the FHFA's circling, and the whole industry's finally asking why they ever needed you at all. $FICO

To put this plainly: the head of the FHFA, whose single job is to prevent a housing crisis, is directly telling people to shop around for a higher credit score because the mortgage is ultimately backed by the US government. And you wonder why yields are rising.

$TDG announced the acquisition of a non-core, likely undermanaged facility from $WWD for $240M. Small deal but this team continues to find high return cap. allocation opps, even at the BU level... let's not forget the size of pool of PE-owned A&D assets + other private cos (Triumph Group, Chromalloy, DRT Aero, Extex, etc etc) acquired post-pandemic that will exit soon - plenty of opportunity left and de-rating may not age well... time will tell but r/r is getting asymmetric.

I’m positions accordingly for tomorrow. Long $FICO while psychologically short it as well. Perfectly hedged.

still thinking about this quote. spending years on the turbine blade cracking problem is what a real process moat sounds like, single crystal yield curves are brutal. its why hwm and pcc have had aero blades to themselves for decades and why neither adds igt capacity. my read: spacex going captive is worse for the casters than the oems. a buyer with no margin target building their own lines is how niche pricing power dies. $HWM
Fun fact: the blades inside the Merlin turbopump were amongst the hardest things to get across the finish line for human certification. Engineers really had to understand any cracks and how they form and how they might propagate. Some really good engineering knowledge accrued!
