WEEK FIVE: Figuration and #FigurePainting.
I had so much fun with this week! There are so many shifts in a person's skin tone based on light and body parts that I had a field day with the color matching. The sitting study was a 2-session, and the laying pose was one session.

WEEK FOUR: #PleinAir.
It was an entirely different experience painting outside than in a studio space. I learned the value in working fast, and I "unlocked" a thicker, brushier approach than previous studies. Over just two sessions, I saw an improvement of informed choices.

WEEK THREE: Complex Surfaces and Working from a Large Still-Life.
This set-up was worked over 10.5 hours, or 3 class sessions. I definitely got frustrated with the iridescent drapery and reflective surfaces, so I generalized on the first study. BUT. It was fun to work small.

WEEK TWO: Cool and Warm simple surfaces and color matching.
This was the week I fell in love with pushing temperature differences and value. Working from a set-up box meant I was in control of the environment, and could focus on the proportions easily.

WEEK ONE: Monochrome simple surfaces and different techniques.
I have never used #oilpaint before, so this was the first time I felt the nuances of the medium. There are some parts where paint from my other pieces smudged onto each other b/c I didn't let them dry properly π’
