How is it going to be enforced. Years since I've been on a bus, especially in London. Do you still get bus conductors anymore? I know London Transport employed some tough-nut West Indians who didn't put up with any nonsense. Drivers seem too scared to get out of their cabs.
Andy Burnham has announced people on buses who vape, play loud music, litter or threaten others will face £100 fines from today. This is one policy I actually agree with. Basic courtesy on public transport shouldn’t be optional. If you can’t use headphones, put your rubbish in the bin, or stop vaping indoors, you shouldn’t be surprised when there’s a consequence. The only question is whether it actually gets enforced.

In 1984, Paul Newman took the watch off his wrist and handed it to a young man who'd just told him he didn't own one. Thirty-three years later, it sold for about $17.8 million. It was his Rolex Daytona, a gift from his wife, Joanne Woodward. It was probably worth a few hundred bucks at most at the time. On the back, she'd had it engraved "DRIVE CAREFULLY ME" on three separate lines, because he raced cars and it frightened the life out of her. Newman wore it every day for years. Then one summer, his daughter's boyfriend, James Cox, was rebuilding the family tree house when Newman asked him the time. James said he didn't know and didn't own a watch. So Newman took the Rolex off his wrist and handed it over: "If you can remember to wind this each day, it tells pretty good time." No photographers present, no fuss, just a spur-of-the-moment gift to his daughter's boyfriend. In 2017, James sold it for about $17.8 million, a world record for a wristwatch at the time. He then reportedly donated a large portion of it to the Nell Newman Foundation, Newman's daughter's charity. That was typical Newman. Newman's Own, the food company he founded, gives all its profits to charity and has handed over hundreds of millions. He was also known for giving privately, without letting anyone know it was him. What a great example. Anyone can be generous with a camera on them. A true gentleman does it when no one's watching.

The main purpose of taxation is no longer simply to raise revenue. It increasingly feels like a way to demoralise the population. Tax what people earn. Tax what they spend. Tax what they save. Tax what they own. Tax what they leave behind. And then lecture them about working harder. At what point does taxation stop being a contribution to society and start feeling like punishment for participating in it?

Andy Burnham doesn’t believe the Brexit vote was legitimate. He said it himself today claimed there was Russian interference that taints the whole thing then No 10 scrambled to say he “accepts” the result after all. Absolute bollocks. We had a referendum. The biggest democratic vote in British history. 17.4 million people voted to leave the EU. We weren’t thick, we weren’t conned, and we didn’t need some politician in London telling us we didn’t know what we were doing. We voted Leave. That was the decision. End of. Stop treating the British people with contempt, Burnham. You don’t get to rewrite what we voted for because it doesn’t suit you. We knew exactly what we were voting for. Brexit. Done. Respect it.

17.4 million more people voted for Brexit than voted for Andy Burnham to be prime minister.

In 1982 ROGER MOORE wasn't planning to return to the role of 007 for ‘Octopussy’. So JAMES BROLIN tested for the part, before Moore then changed his mind. Here’s Brolin’s screen test.

1950: An English capital for the English people who had lived on this island for over a thousand years. 2026: White British are a minority in London. Muhammad is the most common boys’ name. The culture that built the city is being replaced in our own capital. Pakistan’s cities are not being filled with English people. India’s towns are not having their historic populations swapped out. Only we are told this is normal, inevitable, or even good. This erasure of a country’s culture and people’s wouldn’t be acceptable in any other country, so why is it acceptable in Britain. It isn’t. It’s the slow erasure of a people in their own homeland. And it was a choice and it was done purposefully by our own government.

In order to get elected, Burnham told the Makerfield voters that he had no intention of rejoining the EU. Now he says that he has been negotiating to rejoin all of the time. And if anyone speaks against it they are Russian agents. We know who the traitor is Mr Burnham. It is YOU.

So, its taken less than 24 hours for 'political genius' Burnham to go from casting doubt on Brexit with vague unsupported tales of Russian interference to being forced to admit the legitimacy of the vote. A complete volte face. A U turn This is not normal political ineptitude. This is a Keir Starmer level of ineptitude.
🚨NEW: Prime Minister Andy Burnham does now accept the Brexit referendum results to be legitimate, No 10 says

I read that Stephen Gray, the ex-copper who made an excellent apparent-causal joke about bacon has been fined because his joke was 'grossly offensive' I think that what a lot of English people would find 'grossly offensive' is the idea of a grown man having sexual intercourse with a nine year old girl But maybe criticising this would be blasphemy ? On the whole, I think that the provincial judge laying down this law, Steven Hood, may come from a different part of England from me

We gave the Tories 14 years in government. Think about that. 14 years. 14 wasted years during which they didn’t acknowledge a single mistake. But now in opposition we’re supposed to believe they’ve not only recognised all their mistakes but they’ve learned from them and will be a very different party if we elect them again. Promise! Don’t be taken in again. The Tories are the same old party they always were. If you want change then vote for it. Vote #Reform

The Labour Party in opposition absolutely exaggerated this with Liz Truss, all to bring down a government. And what happens when Labour get in.... they are FAR worse! VOTE LABOUR AND YOURE VOTING TO DESTROY THE UK WHILST THEY MILK THE SYSTEM FOR THEIR OWN PERSONAL BENEFIT!!
Liz Truss was forced to resign when gilt yields reached 4.42%. Under Andy Burnham they are now standing at 6.00% Shouldn’t Andy Burnham resign or be calling a General election ?

So despite Andy Burnham saying they will not touch the triple lock until 2030 he’s now u-turning & talking of stopping it earlier. These people are happy to keep their extortionate pensions but want pensioners to go without. They are despicable beyond words as the state pension is ridiculously low as it is. Why are Public Sector pensions never ever looked at 🤔
