Echo the observations of my old friend and colleague @gregallenRTE about @BunclodyGolf . All discerning golfers should pencil in a visit for 2027. No one will be disappointed.
Wonderful day at Bunclody for the Irish Golf Writers won by Vincent Hogan. The Jeff Howes design was always very strong but the maturity & conditioning of the course in its relatively short history is a thing to behold and it’s in good hands with new owner Tom Byrne (in picture).

There are few Irish charities worth supporting more than @HUGGIreland. It was an honour for @DublinJournosGS to do their bit.
Earlier this week, we presented Fiona Tuomey from @HUGGIreland a cheque for €7,000 following another successful charity day in @carlowgolfclub1 - A big thanks to everyone who helped us support a wonderful organisation @woodenbridgegc

One of Ireland’s all-time greats. Led the line selflessly for over a dozen years. Captain at Euro ‘88, lest anyone need reminding. Poorly treated, in my view, by Jack Charlton at Italia ‘90 where he still had much to offer.
A very happy 70th birthday to our 3rd highest Men's goalscorer of all time, Frank Stapleton 🤩🇮🇪

All the best to Marcus Cavaroli. He was the man on the spot for all things @DroghedaUnited for over two and a half decades of glory and grit. Called it without fear or favour

It was a privilege to report on an historic Irish win in the Giants Stadium 32 years ago where Paul McGrath was immense, a colossus. To think he nearly didn’t play because of a frozen shoulder. A certainty for any all-time Irish XI.
Paul McGrath with one of the greatest individual performances vs Italy in the 1994 World Cup. #AVFC

The Irish @Everton have left their mark…from Farrell, Eglinton, O’Neill, Donovan and Clinton in the 1950s to Meagan in the 60s, then Sheedy and later, Kilbane, Carsley, among others including Jake O’Brien. Few carried the blue flame with greater distinction than Seamus Coleman.
Thank you, Seamus. 💙

A fine mark of respect from @padraig_h to @gregallenRTE for his recognition at this week’s Irish Sports Industry awards. One top pro salutes another.
The Federation hosted the annual Irish Sport Industry Awards on Tuesday, celebrating excellence and sport’s value to the Irish economy. 🏆RTÉ’s Greg Allen received the Jimmy Magee Award for Sports Coverage. Paying special tribute was 3-time Major Champion Pádraig Harrington.⛳️

How about this for a sports moment in time captured by the expert lens of @INPHOjames ? Chapeau.
So grateful to wake up this morning to the news that my photograph from the Bordeaux Toulouse game has won the Investec Champions Cup “Out of the Ordinary” Photograph of the Year. 📸🏉

Congrats to Paul Lennon, President of @ASJIsportsjourn on his election to the office of Treasurer in @AIPSmedia 1924 Europe. Paul is a former Treasurer and President of @SoccerWritersIr . A safe pair of hands.

It was a privilege to represent the @SoccerWritersIr at today’s golf classic @Castleknockgolf for the Irish Professional Footballers, whose ranks included Pat Byrne birthday boy and legend.

Very sad news. I have childhood memories of watching Noel playing for @bfcdublin in that title winning season over 50 years ago. May he Rest In Peace.
Everyone at Bohemians wishes to extend our deepest condolences to the family of our former player Noel Mitten, a league winner under Billy Young in 1975, who has sadly passed away: bohemians.ie/noel-mitten-rip…

Nowhere like it links golf anywhere on the island….the towering dunes and crumpled turf tied to both seaside and village in timeless harmony. Old Tom of St Andrew’s must have felt at home when he mapped the original lay-out.
There’s something truly magical about Lahinch Golf Club.

Nowhere in golf quite like Lahinch, ‘where the sea shines like a jewel….’
Former Walker Cup players Jody Fanagan, Rory McIlroy, Jordan Spieth & Scottie Scheffler recall their fondest memories of the Walker Cup, and their experiences at Lahinch Golf Club Tickets are on sale via Go.randa.org/WalkerCupTicket… 🇬🇧🇮🇪🇺🇸
