Smaller format 2wheel #EV have important roles to play in logistics, mobility, even @DeptDefence - we've profiled several contenders, drawing on 2014 #LandForces experience: quietrush.com.au/ebikes-in-d…

Don't blame #ageing for not being able to ride anymore. Blame your political leaders for not creating the safe conditions that allow you to.

It’s strange seeing people arguing other so many things but staying silent on this one. Don’t they understand that climate change is going to put an end to every single issue there is. Can’t people see that? This is really happening.

Keep people busy & spending, disconnected from reality & each other, & fill their minds with so much inanity that there’s no time left to properly think about graphs like this & what they mean for their lives & the people they love.
We live in a suicidal distraction machine.

I don't know why this 2002 tweet is bouncing around today, but I'm not complaining.
Car companies, gov officials, and safety advocates keep pretending that tech offers the best opportunity to reduce crashes. Hogwash.
Huge win for @ubcobikes - working with @australiapost design brief - adapted and refined their 2x2 into the new #UbcoDuty - good interview explains the journey: rnz.co.nz/national/programme…
Ping @TheEVuniverse #urbanmobility
Great to see @ubcobikes release #UbcoDuty - a fleet ready #micromobility option that can keep pace on arterial roads. Takes all those great design cues in the 2x2 to make them ready for @australiapost ubco.co.nz/pages/duty

Billions of people paying attention to absolutely anything & everything except what’s happening right in front of their eyes.
Finally, proper #transport focussed regulations inbound for #emobility products to lift quality and address #evfire risk: theguardian.com/australia-ne… Yo @TheEVuniverse
Ripper of a #STEM #landrover story: abc.net.au/news/2021-05-23/e… Can see girls in a program like this being a talent pipeline with fresh perspectives. Yo @TheEVuniverse
Time to take #micromobility obligations for risk to pedestrians + self as a rider seriously for #escooter riders of Victoria: theguardian.com/australia-ne…
It's time- I'm a fan of them, but public safety is a shared responsibility.
Nice work by @abcnews on #EV lifecycle cost comparison to ICE, for a projected service life of 189,000kms. abc.net.au/news/2024-05-27/c…
Bonkers level of acceleration performance in @volvocars #EX30 - last time I went this fast 0-100 was onboard a #CBR900RR - great demo experience but no way would I let my teen kids near it. @TheEVuniverse Lots to love about it.

We are herd animals. We only act when others do. The bystander effect - we will watch someone die if everyone else is pretending it’s not happening… Which is what we are doing now on a mass scale to ourselves
Thanks @bridieEV Would be interesting to see the same lens applied to #motorcycle industry, where we don't see same level of #EV investment into #LEV sector, but the fun + utility factor they deliver is immense.
A must read from @CarsGuide:
- No #EV, no future for some OEMS under NEVS
- Including some members of FCAI board
- FOI doc shows FCAI labelled some OEMs as 'almost schizophrenic'

Now this looks like a useful initiative to address #LEVfire risk at the source. #firesafety @EVFireSafety

These adverts are very good and actually make people think. Be great if other home nations followed their lead. 👏

Good to see @nswparliament committee work underway today on #EV, #LEV space: ponsw.events.corrivium.live/… with First Responders, @NSW_FairTrading @tafensw
Unsurprised to hear of the shortfalls in #mechanics facing #EV industry - abc.net.au/news/2024-03-05/e… Having started on this trade path in 80's, much has changed to make it an attractive career.
Hmm. Skills shortages also have a role to play in readiness of #Insurance companies to write off an #EV if no one nearby can work on it, despite trivial damage: theguardian.com/environment/…

The success of EVs is massively underreported!
I found 10 countries with over 20% car sales all-electric in 2023. And 14 countries at 10-20% EV mix!
I found 16 countries more than doubled their EV sales in 2023. Some even grew more >700%!

Think of buying a 200,000km, 10 year old #petrol car, and the same age and distance #EV, which car will be far easier to maintain and last longer? What concerns would you have buying a 200,000km old petrol vs EV? #Maintenance #drive #overhaul #timingchain
