This helps explain the ridiculous arguments some have been making that English doesn't refer to an ethnicity, a claim no respected demographer, geographer or historian would make.
There is a government push to have people in positions of 'power and responsibility' to deny it.
If you're wondering why there's a sudden effort to claim that the English don't exist as an ethnicity, it's worth remembering that it's actually government policy.
In April the government published 'Protecting What Matters', its 'community cohesion strategy'.
That document explicitly describes the idea that to be English is to be White as 'extreme right', and describes 'national identity as an ethnic construct, tied to race or religion' as something which the 'extreme right' exploit.

There's no other explanation for this other than deliberate national suicide. Foreign workers in Canada bring in 150 million per year but cost the taxpayer over 1 billion per year. Not to mention the cost of the increased crime, quality of life, insurance rates etc. Just a completely insane policy that has zero upsides.
