We’re so excited to announce the return of Healthy Eating Week running from Tuesday 6th to Friday 9th May 2025 — as part of our Incredible Edibles programme! 🧑🌾
With the help of our programme partners Dole Ireland, Country Crest, O’Shea’s and McCormack Family Farms, we’ll be visiting primary schools across Dublin, Meath, Carlow, and Kildare with fun, hands-on activities focused on healthy eating and growing your own food 🥕🌱
We’re kicking things off in Carlow with the Dole Fresh Fruit Truck ! Complete with a live cooking demo and delicious smoothies for students to enjoy, while learning all about the benefits of a balanced diet!
Then it’s on to Dublin, Meath, and Kildare, where we’ll be getting stuck into sowing and growing workshops, showing students just how easy and fun it is to grow and enjoy Irish favourites like strawberries and potatoes! 🍓🥔
Huge thanks to our amazing programme partners for their continued support: @CountryCrest @Doleireland @McCormackFarms @Osheafarms @Bordbia

I need to take a photo of a big ginger cat, hopefully one that's outdoors. If anyone in Sligo has a suitable model please let me know.

Last year we found @sdublincoco had deleted actions on allotments & community gardens from their #climateactionplan
Today we were delighted to hear that the wording was put back in to the approved SDCC plan.
Thank you to @markjmlynch & all SDCC councillors for supporting this!

The solstice is coming and after that, longer days. Spring is coming and with it the chance for new life. Regeneration. Hopefully I can get the tunnel repaired soon, I imagine the robins will be returning to nest shortly. This family made great use of the shelter and flowerpot!

'Tis the season to admire the beautiful berries of native Holly and Ivy. They're just waiting for a hungry bird to help disperse the seeds.
Thank you pollinators, great work 🐝🪰

“My” goldfinches stopped eating nyjer last year. So we’ll see if this year’s flock is less picky. My yard-long feeder has 1/3 nyjer and 2/3 sunflower hearts. Anyone else’s goldfinches stopped eating nyjer?

The dark days are now bearable with the annual #wintergardenbirdcount It’s a citizen science project that anyone can take part in and add valuable data to research on the state of our garden birds. Go to website of @BirdWatchIE to join. PS I wish sparrows were easier to count.
