Did a @WeAreInBetaPod Curriculum Thinkers Masterclass with @UxbridgeHighSch about their process of whole school curriculum review
Four things I learnt:
1. Make it data informed
2. Make it collaborative
3. Schedule it in the school diary
4. Integrate it into other review processes

Our leader Jamie Maxted accepts the ultimate @HarrisFed award🏆 on behalf of his staffing body.
He’d be the first to tell you, this recognition is symbolic of ALL the efforts of our staff, staff who’ve moved on, as well as our parent community!
Reading this getting inspired. Favourite quote so far “We need to break the mould & create a female-shaped space in which we lead” @TheHopefulHT Thank you @WomenEd #teach #edchat #educhat #EdLeaders
Scientists have developed a universal cancer test that can detect traces of the disease in a patient’s bloodstream.
The test uses a colour-changing fluid to reveal the presence of malignant cells in the body and provides results in less than 10 minutes. theguardian.com/science/2018…
It’s important to remember women scientists who contributed, and the barriers they overcame. This is one way to tackle the tension between femininity and science, providing role models, and increasing women’s participation across all scientific disciplines theconversation.com/women-ha…

The first three days back at school have filled me with pride, joy, warmth, and excitement. I'm lucky to work in a school that genuinely cares about staff and students, listens, and acts in our best interests #allthefeels #proudtoteach
We can have it all! @HarrisGreenwich share how the school improved both pupil outcomes and teacher workload.

Results summary this summer: at A Level, students smashed it. At GCSE, students smashed it. Best exam season ever. How? Students were brilliantly taught and not just in Year 11. Team effort and we are proud of everyone from the premises team to the Governors. Inspiring stuff!!

Once you control for background factors, students attending private US schools have the same academic achievement as those attending public schools: bit.ly/2vThNPz. Given the smaller classes in private schools, this suggests that the teaching must be quite a bit worse...
Spent the day visiting Eton to see how the other half live. Having come with the usual preconceptions, I’ve left with a softer opinion. They provide incredible every day experiences which massively build their kids cultural capital. How can we bring this into the state sector?
Both excited and nervous to be on my way to the @CharteredColl #CTeach assessment day! See you there @wpearmain1 👋🏼

Up early again #studying hard for #CTeach! Writing my debate piece on the usefulness of #international #educational comparisons. It’s been the most #interesting thing I’ve done for a while! @CharteredColl
