And that’s a skill issue that keeps us trapped endlessly reading about women who never age past their 20s. If you watch the OG Charmed they actually explored motherhood in conjunction with being a hero and it was well done exploring the character evolution.
I think one of the main reasons so many readers hate when the fmc gets pregnant/becomes a mother is because to a LOT of people, becoming a mother is seen as the end of their journey as an individual which isn't seen as conducive to a main character arc

Every single person on To Catch a Predator not only solicited a minor online but actually showed up to a second location with the explicit intent to sexually abuse them. That OVER HALF were utterly unprosecutable is a result of how insanely reckless production behaved.

Why Did I Get Married is the perfect example that proves, YOUR MANS FRIENDS ARENT YOUR FRIENDS. they knew that man was cheating on Sheila with her friend and everyone slept great at night, no one told their wives, no one made a REAL attempt to get him to stop… sick af

“While mid-to-late 2010s YA was often guilty of only casting Black woman in token roles, as the sidekick or best friend, Ofodu notes that we’ve now shifted back to a place where it’s normal for Black people to not exist in these worlds at all.” dazeddigital.com/life-cultur…

I know this sounds corny and cringey and naive and whatever, but Dolly Parton felt like America when it was trying to be the place it promised to be.

When has it been normal? Selena got killed by the president of her fan club
Why is stan culture so toxic now? What is the social and psychological mechanism happening there? I’m genuinely curious.

Both Beyonce & Serena Williams almost died in childbirth. It’s the racism…
We’ve been saying this for years. A Black woman in New York City with a PhD is twelve times more likely to die in the period in and around childbirth than a white high school dropout on welfare. It’s racism. Not race and class doesn’t protect you.

A wise woman once said, "you are capable of twice as much as you think and ten times as much as your mother thinks" and honestly I think about that a lot whenever a wave of doubt rushes over me telling me that I can't do it.

movie theater tickets being $18-$20 is insane btw. when i was in high school, they’d be $10 on the weekends and $7.50 for a weekday matinee. this is why kids don’t *do* anything anymore. they’ve been priced out of everything except being at home.

I wish it was more common knowledge that almost all regulations exist because companies weren’t doing these things on their own and bad things were happening because of it.
Turns out that food companies were only checking their food because the government told them to which is exactly why we need government regulations

I got dragged to hell for reporting this (and told I was going to hell for bearing false witness) but Bloomberg just affirmed my reporting :-)
hey, in the reporting of my book, I found out that the Mormon Church directly pays Mormon influencers. so if you’ve ever wondered why there are so many Mormon family vloggers & mom influencers, that’s a big reason:-)

martial abuse wasnt even considered a thing for a long time. hitting your wife was looked at like spanking your kids. you could legally rape your wife until the 80s
Why did the black community find Tina Turner’s domestic abuse so entertaining? Why was it used for so many punchlines?
