This might be an unpopular opinion, but I really hope that they don’t ever add Legendary, Mythical or Paradox Pokémon to Champions. It’s been so nice being able to battle people without them having a full team of Legendaries for a change.

I think a lot of this is the fallout of the “win with your favorites” philosophy being tested against actual competitive play. There was a big boom of players when champions dropped, who all want to be the one to “break the meta” with their faves.

Recent activity on twitter has made me think about how much the community has started complaining about things since champions release. The recent farig discourse and to a lesser extent encore and archaludon discourse have shown me people don't want to adapt to beat what's good -

I’m not saying to not run mons you like because they aren’t strong. Any way to engage with VGC that brings enjoyment is ok in my books. But this is a competition. People want to win, and the way to express skill in the game isn’t just through the teambuilder.

I just worry a lot of people don’t really know for sure what way they want to engage with VGC, and just expect it to cater to them instead. And that mentality makes you miss out on the actually fun parts of the game.
