🚀 Two rockets. Two completely different philosophies.
Falcon 9 and the Space Shuttle both reached orbit, but their paths to reusability were radically different.
Falcon 9 returns its first-stage booster for landing and reuse.
The Shuttle returned its orbiter as a gliding spacecraft, while its solid boosters were also recovered.
Different eras. Different engineering choices.
Same destination: orbit. Completely different ways of getting there. 🛰️

Why the SR-71 Used TEB to Start Its Engines
The SR-71’s J58 engines didn’t start with a conventional spark.
Because JP-7 was extremely difficult to ignite, the Blackbird used triethylborane (TEB)—a pyrophoric ignition agent that reacts spontaneously with air.

33 ENGINES. ALL AT ONCE. 🔥🚀 SpaceX just put the Super Heavy to the test again at Starbase. Booster 21 completed a full static fire with all 33 of its Raptor 3 engines, creating one of the most impressive scenes yet in Starship's development. The burn lasted roughly 15 seconds, with the booster clamped down on Pad 2 — a critical test to validate the propulsion system before moving on to the final stages of flight preparation ✨🔥

🚨 SPACEX FALCON HEAVY SIDE BOOSTER JUST LANDED ITSELF - NO PILOT, NO PARACHUTE
Watch: booster falls from space, fires engines, lands vertical at Cape Canaveral like sci-fi 🚀
What most don't know: 16-story booster hits atmosphere at 5,000 km/h, uses grid fins to steer - 4 titanium fins create drag to aim. 3-engine entry burn slows from hypersonic to subsonic, single engine landing burn = zero horizontal velocity touchdown. Saves $30M per booster.
Plane lands. Rocket lands harder.

🚀 Historic! The Starship's Super Heavy was perfectly captured by the Mechazilla tower without touching the ground! Approximately 70 meters high and weighing over 200 tons, it descended with surgical precision.

🚀🔥 SpaceX has reached an astonishing milestone: its 100th launch of 2026—before August was even over. The milestone came with another Falcon 9 mission carrying 24 Starlink satellites into orbit from Vandenberg Space Force Base. Even more remarkable, the booster successfully landed again after its 12th flight.

🌕🚀 Touchdown on another world. A lunar landing is more than a moment of contact—it’s the culmination of navigation, propulsion, guidance, and countless hours of engineering. As a spacecraft settles onto the Moon’s ancient surface, humanity turns another distant destination into a place we can reach, explore, and study. 🌌✨
