It looks like we might be heading into another correction for the S&P 500 $SPY. Wondering how these usually go? Check out some key findings from a study of similar corrections going back over 30 years.

We track corrections by finding the first 10% drop after an all-time high. The entire correction cycle then extends from the previous high until the next one. In the middle we have the correction itself, which is the first & last time it trades down 10%+.

Our current $SPY correction low was March 6 at 416.25 (13 days in). If that holds, we should be out of correction territory in 4-8 weeks. But if we hit a new low next week, it becomes more likely finding the bottom will take months and regaining all-time highs will take years.

Around a third of corrections bounce immediately while another third bottom out within a few weeks. The final third took six months to nearly three years to hit lows.

This is so true. Once brokers can't compete on price, it's going to come down to content AND tools. I've been a subscriber to @cmlviz for a long time and use it to complement @Quantcha. Investors don't flock to us because they're satisfied with what their brokers have to offer.
