Unlike many artifacts, which sit on the shelf only to be gazed at, our parlor organ can be played and experienced. It can offer an embodied experience of using your hands at the keys and your feet at the pumps. You don’t need to be an organist to enjoy it.  carleton.edu/chaplain/news/n…

Theological fundamentalism (extreme conservatism) of every type, requires no depth of thought. It presents a rigid set of rules that appeal to the fearful, as well as the power-hungry. It judges, rather than loves. It seeks power, rather than service to others. And it seeks to keep God in a very small, controllable, and containable box.

Left: Nigel Farage in his video criticising Zack Polanski accepting a collab post on Instagram, "Since 2013 I've been the most attacked public figure in British public life" Right: Jo Cox was murdered in 2016. She was shot three times and stabbed 15 times outside a library one week before the Brexit referendum. Her attacker, a neo-Nazi shouted, 'Britain first', 'This is for Britain', and 'Britain will always come first' while attacking her. And in 2021, Sir David Amess was also murdered, he was stabbed more than 20 times. His attacker was an ISIS supporter. Just to be clear, violence is never the solution to grievances, certainly not in a democracy. Not against the general public and certainly not against any of our elected officials, no matter how odious some of them may be. Disagreements belong in debate, elections, protest, and the ballot box, not in physical attacks. Hating a politician’s views does not justify harming them. Once violence becomes acceptable against elected officials, or anyone else, democratic politics collapses into pure force. The answer to bad leaders or bad policies is better arguments and better votes, not knives or guns. And if you really dislike them, vote them out in the next election - people of Clacton you know what to do, vote for @CountBinface

There is something unspeakably vile about going after pubic servants who saved countless lives during the pandemic. Nobody liked lockdowns, they were a necessary response in a crisis. For twisted ideological reasons, some people have turned on those like Fauci in the US and Witty in the UK for doing their job. Hawley, Lowe, Paul, you are absolutely disgusting, unfit to clean the boots of the men you shamefully attack.

I think that I shall write a book. The title will be: "The Bible, Without Bias." It will be the shortest book in the world, and shall consist of only one page... indeed, only one sentence. It shall say: "There is no such thing."

I think it will be the kind of moment described in Psalm 37 "I went by and lo he was gone; I sought him but his place could nowhere be found", in strong contrast to the preceding verse. @margibby and @RevKimWChafee will know straight away what I'm referring to!

Don't confuse criticism with persecution. Shun thoughtless retaliation: insult isn't debate. Know when to walk away - having the last word is a delusion. Avoid the malicious, vicious and lubricious. There are still good conversations with interesting people to be had here.

Trump won the 2016 election when Obama was in charge. He won the 2024 election when Biden was in charge. The ONLY election Trump says was rigged was the 2020 election when HE was in charge and he lost. Are you folks truly this f^cking dumb to believe this f^cking liar? 🤬

I am reliably informed that it's exactly thirteen years since I joined Twitter (as it then was). #MyXAnniversary I'm not on here nearly as much as I was, since it has deteriorated so much in recent years, but for those who still engage with me here, greetings and sincere thanks!

Hennepin Avenue United Methodist Church is home to a breathtaking pipe organ that is so much more than an instrument — it’s a stunning work of art. Twin Cities Live got a rare behind-the-scenes look at the organ as it prepares for a full restoration. Kelli was personally invited by the associate director of worship and the arts to go where most people never get to go. kstp.com/tcl/pipe-organ-rest…

Ten years ago today Farage unveiled his racist "Breaking Point" poster. Within hours a far-right sympathiser murdered the MP Jo Cox. Instead of apologising, Farage went on to verbally attack her husband. Farage has always been scum. Never Vote Reform.

The attempted murder in Belfast was an appalling act of brutality by one individual. It has been universally condemned and the perpetrator has been arrested and charged. Torching the homes of innocent people because they’re not white is a truly chilling display of racist violence by organised fascists who have been legitimised and encouraged by mainstream political figures. Call it what it is.
