Hey, I'm Q, a rain dragon vtuber! I was left in the mortal realms as a hatchling, so now I'm trying to become strong enough to return to the divine realm to find my lost family!
Look forward to multiple streams a week, chill vibes, and good times!

New billing cycle for the ISP is here, there's no longer a device on my network eating up literally every byte of data cap. Looks like we're back for next week!

Trying to go through and follow all of my moots on Twitch. The amount of people I haven't gotten around to is kind of atrocious.

Final Conclusions:
I feel like this study has revealed a lot about the Shyvana rework and the people who play her. Firstly, itβs clear that she has a massively dedicated community that are willing to sit through a 40+ question survey for the sake of the betterment of their champion, but also, itβs fairly clear that they have a lot of thoughts about how Shyvana could be better. Based on these responses, I will be making some claims regarding the data that I believe can be drawn from it.
The first claim Iβll be making is that Shyvanaβs current iteration of her Q, or at least the Q3, is inherently damaging her design and potential. Without her Q, she has nothing. With her Q, she has nothing aside from it. Everything facilitates more Qs per interaction she can get off - be it wave clear, ganks, or teamfights - to the detriment of her other abilities having to be weaker or nerfed from their previous versions to keep it in line. I will note that some respondents made clear that they like this new playstyle, but a significant amount also complained that Shyvanaβs kit feels incoherent because the abilities donβt feel like they interact well with each other outside of enabling more Qs. As such, the immediate solution that comes to mind is reworking her kit to be less reliant on the Q. Whether that involves removing the max health passive from it and reimplementing something like her old E mark to introduce skill expression in exchange for more damage, or removing a recast to reimplement double on-hits or AoE dragon Qs to revive her on-hit viability, I canβt say. That will be up to the developers to decide or the community to raise their voices about. What I can say is that there is a significant amount of interest in bringing back AoE Qs or double on-hits in the vein of old Shyvana and Zaahen.
The second claim Iβll be making is that attention needs to be brought to Shyvanaβs build diversity. The developers made a clear split between her intended AP, AD, and AS/On-Hit builds a couple of patches after the rework, and it clearly has not been received well whatsoever. In Riotβs attempts to clearly define Shyvanaβs builds with her scaling more clearly, what they appear to have done is make it so that she only has one viable general build with the occasional exception that some players have made work. I canβt make a claim regarding whether these changes were intentional or misguided under the assumption that they would help, but a second look is likely warranted to help balance things out.
The third claim is that the most clear answer to Shyvanaβs improvement, based on the responses given, is the implementation of a new passive that falls in line with other champions that also scale, such as Aurelion Sol, Smolder, Belβveth, Sion/Swain, and similar. Itβs clear that players are willing to make a variety of trade-offs from Shyvanaβs current power points to make that happen, and some directly cited the removal of her Q3 - or at least the true damage aspect - to make that happen. Whether Riot intends to copy Aurelion Sol and Smolder and augment Shyvanaβs abilities (see Wild Rift Shyvana for an example in the footnotes, 4), or go an unconventional route like giving targeted changes based on her build like Kaiβsa, something certainly needs to change, as every other response in the short answer section quite literally cited her passive as a pain point. In this section Iβll also reference the need for solo lane quality of life, which I do feel goes hand-in-hand with any passive changes that may be made.
Overall, I think Riot had a good understanding of the desires of the Shyvana community when they released that roadmap for improvements for her and itβs a shame that they diverted from it so quickly. I think that she needs to be revisited, likely with a first priority of rebalancing her kit to make her power budget more evenly distributed and enable further changes. Whether that happens prior to or at the same time as reworking her passive isnβt for me to decide, but I do feel that an avenue needs to be opened up for more impactful changes to be made. From a βWhat would make this champion feel more complete?β perspective, the passive is a first priority. Frankly, a penetration item or two makes the passive non-existent, which is a problem since items like Shadowflame and Stormsurge are standard-issue in mage kits most seasons and the same can be said for their AD equivalents. The third major priority is expanding her build options to at least open up AP as a viable avenue once more. Whether she needs to be as versatile as she was pre-rework is debatable, but what is apparent is that she simply doesnβt have the options that she had in the past. If Riot can move forward with these priorities and the feedback from her players in mind, I do think that they can do some justice by our favorite Half-Dragon.
Friends got me to watch Cyberpunk Edgerunners season 1 while we played Warhammer and damn... No one gets a happy ending in Night City, huh chooms?
Anyone know about these Endix guys or get similar emails? Seems interesting, but I want to know what I'd be getting into.
Y'know, playing Reaper kinda feels different now that I know my little ghosty dude is just some guy who probably just wants to see his wife and kids again.
My take on the things announced in the keynote yesterday:
- Trailer: Great, though I'm going to need the lyrics to understand most of what's going on with the song.
- Zephyr: Seems pretty cool! My SMN main brain is annoyed at it getting to be THE new pet job, but I'll get over it. Very interested to see how the GCD works with that one ability where the bird carries you arround while firing attacks. I do wish they had described its playstyle a little more like how they did for basically every job reveal prior to now (ex. discussing how picto works despite everyone still ignoring what they said and assuming it was a support job). Basically all we got was that it'll have mobility options.
- Relevant NPCs: The "new" one is pretty interesting. For the sake of spoilers, I won't say the name, but we all know who I'm talking about. Also, if Nordic myth has any bearing on what will happen in the story, another one of the new ones may be in for a rough time. Also, that Calyx pic is my spirit animal.
- More zone info and walkthroughs: Cool, but the walkthroughs have never really excited me as compared to actually getting to explore them myself. The BGM is amazing as usual, props to Soken and the music team. Also, the new player town looks pretty cool!
- Recap of the branching MSQ system: Seems interesting, might help with zone congestion, not new though.
- Recap of Auto Content Balancing: Quite possibly the most impactful change we'll see this expansion. This opens things up to not having 3 buttons if you get Sastasha in your duty roulette and certain "impactful" duties not getting rolled by high damage prior to all of the story moments playing out. Not new, but good!
- Recap of the Transition to Weekly Activity: Basically nothing new, but we saw the finalized UI and learned that there might be customization options in the future.
- Recap of Season System: Nothing new, but they had to recap that this is not a battlepass for people who didn't hear about it until now.
- Recap of Evolved Mode v. Reborn Mode: Nothing new aside from they've finished and are tweaking numbers now. No sneak peek of anything is kind of a crime. FIRST PROMISE OF AN ADDITIONAL LIVE LETTER FOR MORE INFORMATION.
- Recap of Armory System Update: As someone who started the raid tier on PLD, finished it on RDM, and went into UMAD as VPR, this is a godsend for people who do multiple roles. Love this, but nothing new.
- Recap of Action Skins: Nothing new. Cool idea, looking forward to it, but no new info.
- Recap of New Character Customization Options: Nothing new, but please give us a modern character creator, Yoshi-P. If you don't like any of the 4-5 face options for your race option you're kind of fucked. SECOND PROMISE OF AN ADDITIONAL LIVE LETTER FOR MORE INFORMATION.
- Recap of "World Raids": No new info or hints. Really hoping this is GW2-style stuff. Open world would benefit from it a LOT.
- Recap of Auto-Move to Quest Objectives: NGL, plugin devs have had most of this info for a while. Just pay them to let you implement their data and save the dev time.
- Auto Re-mount After Gathering or Talking to NPCs: I'd prefer if we just didn't have to dismount for it like in WoW if you have Sky Golem or Druid travel form, but I'll take what I can get. Small change but a good one.
- Permanent Tier 1 Speed Enhancement if You Own One of "THE" Motorcycles: Cool, kinda sucks that you have to pay money for it, but nothing that I'm going to be upset about or something.
- Recap of "Fierce" Difficulty Raids: New name, but basically nothing new? I'd have preferred a cooler name, but I'm not mad or anything. Seems like a good change.
- New Alliance Raid Paths: I appreciate that it's a time saver and I'll give the benefit of the doubt, but we had better see cooler intermediary boss fights if we're going to have two duties for one raid. For example, if nearly every fight can be on the tier of Ark Angels, Shadowlord, etc., I think this will be an AMAZING change and gives them an opportunity for more cutscenes. If all this means is that we're turning one good instance into one "meh" one and one decent one, I'm going to be a bit disappointed, even if it lets me farm glam pieces faster. I actually think that duty finding may be harder if you want to queue up for the half of the raid that people aren't interested in. THIRD MENTION OF HOLDING INFO UNTIL A FUTURE LIVE LETTER.
- Savage Alliance Raids: If the bosses are cool, this is going to be awesome. I just wish that the first set of a-raids getting this content was an original set of raids rather than a collaboration. I do like that they're going to give raid gear upgrades. Goodness knows we could benefit from more avenues for that.
- Gauntlet of Power: Quite possibly the thing that I'm most interested in from the keynote, though not giving scaling rewards with progress feels REALLY bad. Like, with 5 bosses, the longest that a full run could reasonably take is maybe like 30 minutes. Why NOT reward people for going the distance? I understand that they're trying to respect people's time, but this feels like maybe they're maybe going a bit far. It's okay if a duty goes for 30 minutes, especially since it looks like you can pause part of the way through. I do think that this will encourage people to do some of the optional dungeons though. FOURTH MENTION OF MORE INFO IN A FUTURE LIVE LETTER.
- Seasonal Gear: Very interesting, I like this since I play every role, so this will help me get the bare minimum for helping out friends in savage, extreme, etc. New UI looks pretty cool. Part of me will miss the TP back to the relevant hub city to buy my new gear for the week from the NPC since it made it more social. I definitely think that part of the reason that seasonal gear isn't quite as good as raid gear is because some raiders don't like the idea of people who didn't "put in the work" being as strong as them. I'm kind of whatever on it, but I like that they're revamping the system. I do see the word "Unlimited" and wonder if they finally got the hint that it's okay to uncap gear in the odd patch. Also, I really like that gear on the VPR.
- Raid Gear: Holy shit, no more fighting your static members for raid drops? That's gonna cut down on reclears by a lot. ALSO CUSTOMIZABLE ATTRIBUTES? I DON'T HAVE TO FARM OUT A SECOND BIS SET FOR SPS BLM? YES PLEASE. The advanced melding is kind of whatever as long as the success rate is high enough. Definitely the thing that makes me side-eye it a bit though. I also think the idea of having particle effects on the finalized gear pieces is pretty interesting, hearkens back to Abyssos.
- Recap of Cross-DC PF and DF: Not even in the new expansion, but glad to see it's coming to NA/EU in 2 weeks.
- Recap of General Info: Level cap, new gear, fates, etc. Nothing super new aside from previews of the GNB (kinda gives me Black Clover vibes with the mantle on the shoulder), VPR, BLM. I very much appreciate that they said you can shorten the collar on the VPR one. One of my big complaints for male characters is that the collars are way too big. Might get me to fanta to a male character for a bit.
- Recap of Duty Support Update: Follow-up on their mention that you can go in with partial parties instead of solo from EU.
- Recap of Chocobo System Overhaul
- New Dungeons: Okay these look really cool, and I like the BGM. Looking forward to playing them.
- PVP Updates: I usually tune these out since PVP isn't my thing. I don't think this is a recap, but I couldn't tell you. PvP Hall of the Novice is interesting and apparently something people have been asking for? Also rework to Frontlines is a cool idea.
- Recap of Housing Updates: Follow-up on the TARDIS housing that we were expecting / hoping for this expansion, floating furniture, etc. New housing UI is cool and I'm really glad that they're exploring actually new options for getting houses in players' hands instead of repeating the same old stuff that hasn't really worked before. Hoping for instanced housing or custom communities or something.
- Recap of Normal Raids: Please look forward to having your first or second boss be the NPC that starts as your enemy but it's a misunderstanding and they're actually your friend who works with you throughout the entire expansion (looking at you Eric, Black Cat, 9S, etc.). Fierce coming out after savage feels off, but I get their reason why since they don't want to spoil the RWF. Let's just hope that we don't have another cheating scandal.
- Preview Teaser for Alliance Raids: Nothing new, but aesthetically cool?
- Collector's Bundle: As a caster main, I've come to terms that I'll never get to order a cool statue of any of the jobs I play.
32 bullet points. 17 are "Recaps". I understand that some of them are less important things, but over half of the topics not being new, and four of the major ones being deferred to later Live Letters just felt like I didn't have a lot to be super excited about. As someone who had no prior interest in FF7 or Evangelion (friends are making me watch Evangelion at least), it feels like I don't have a lot of "new" stuff that I can enjoy without being "in the know" without spending a lot of time consuming outside content. I'm a bit underwhelmed by it all because it feels like anything that I could have latched onto to be excited about has had a lot of its information deferred to a later live letter.
Now that the Keynote is over...
NA Keynote: "You'll hear more in Berlin and Tokyo!"
Berlin Keynote: "Just kidding you'll hear more in Tokyo"
Tokyo Keynote: "Just kidding again we'll have like 5 live letters for all the stuff"
I get that it's a lot to go over, it really does feel like I walked away from these keynotes with less collective information than I had from just one or two of the keynotes for previous expansions. Hard to get excited for stuff when I've barely seen any of it or it'll come out some nebulous time in 8.X.
We're gonna get more info out of the next 3 Live Letters than we're getting out of this keynote address.
Please look forward to it in Patch 8.X
What D&D class would your VTuber/OC be?
Probably Monk, though I could see something like Druid (Since weather related, or that one Griffon's Saddlebag subclass where you can turn into a dragon) or maybe Fighter with a sword?
