No. This isn't protecting students, but protecting an ideology of a class-based HE system and the continued attack on the Humanities. No government should dictate to students what a good degree is in terms of monetary value.

We are so fortunate to have just finished our degrees in the creative field and younger people after us deserve that opportunity too. The fact this is even in the question of getting rid of creative subjects is disgusting. (1/3)

Too many students are being sold a university education that won't get them a decent job at the end of it. So I'm cracking down on rip-off degrees and boosting apprenticeships to ensure students get the best deal possible. Widening access. Boosting jobs. Growing the economy.

History of Art/ English - Honours Degree 2:1 Allowed me to teach Art & Creative Writing in many prisons in the South West (for 15 years.) I know I gave a voice to so many prisoners over that time. Low Value Degree? You've got to be ridiculous!

I studied Drama, media and cultural studies @unibirmingham - my dissertation was on brands and globalisation. I studied orientalism, race and cinema, fandom, feminism and LOADs of things that I directly use in my role as a CEO.

Another harsh way of pushing the arts out. This will only decrease the potential for increasing creative individuals. How can a government expect economic growth when people are actively told by their leaders that their passions and interests are a ‘rip-off’. Disgraceful.
