We are now onto our third cohort of students!
Challenges were immense, but the payoff was amazing. The students are now teaching teachers and teaching students STEM. So amazing to see all the different projects they’re doing.
Delivery was successful: a mixture of weekly zoom workshops, a concentrated workshop in PNG (students went to Port Moresby and teaching teaching took place online at QUT), and finally final workshops in Port Moresby once borders opened.
COVID made things difficult: students had to return to PNG only a couple of weeks arriving in Aus. The team had to work out how to deliver the course to the PNG students … most of whom were in remove places.
One of the best things I’ve been involved with the delivery of a Grad Cert in STEM Education and to teachers in PNG. This project started off as an Aust Awards program in 2020.
