Open Source, Research and Industry panel at PyCon Africa 2026. 🎤🐍 Where do the three meet? In the tooling: packages, libraries and reproducible pipelines that move work from a research notebook to production.

Technologies of great scale rarely leave anything untouched. They don't just change things; they fundamentally rewire our experience of how we live, how we work, and how we relate to the world and to each other.
The future is being built at the points where ideas, people, and technology converge. At PyCon Nigeria 2025, Ibukun Adedeji will lead us into that conversation with his talk. Oct. 2-4, 2025. The Zone, Lagos Secure your spot: ng.pycon.org/tickets/ #PyConNG2025

🎥 Tried to make a content video… walked in, said “So, hi, this is Jetemi, I am a…” then walked right back out because I forgot what to say 😅 Content creation is not easy o, but we’re making the effort. Don’t laugh at me, I’m just making a post for #PyConNG2025

[Please read the full post.] Python is very close to my heart, and I have been part of this community ever since I started learning coding. 💌 I will attend and speak at three PyCons in Africa in the coming month. 🌍 @PyconKenya: 25th Sept - Oct 1st @PythonNigeria: Oct 2nd- Oct 5th @pyconafrica: Oct 6- Oct 13th While most Western countries have access to a big market, things are not the same in Africa. 😿 While African developers possess excellent skills, it's hard for them to get a visa or be physically present in other countries. That calls for more importance to be given to such events inside Africa, so we can reach more developers. I am so happy to work at Apify, which supports such events and wants to be part of the African developer community. Why not do my part? :) So, rather than being away from home in Dussehra(a big festival in India) and doing talks, booths, and workshops in Africa, I will also be supporting 30 Nigerian students to attend PyCon Nigeria this year by buying tickets for them. 𝐈𝐟 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐚 𝐍𝐢𝐠𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐚𝐧 𝐬𝐭𝐮𝐝𝐞𝐧𝐭, 𝐣𝐮𝐬𝐭 𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐬𝐡𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐬 𝐩𝐨𝐬𝐭, 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐈 𝐰𝐢𝐥𝐥 𝐠𝐢𝐯𝐞 𝐢𝐭 𝐨𝐮𝐭 𝐭𝐨 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐟𝐢𝐫𝐬𝐭 𝟑𝟎 𝐬𝐭𝐮𝐝𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐬 𝐰𝐡𝐨 𝐝𝐨 𝐢𝐭. 🇳🇬 I am not announcing it here for being great, or getting your love reactions :) I am doing this to raise awareness and ask for your support for these small conferences. It can be as simple as buying a ticket from someone; you literally have to do nothing else, and you will be planting seeds that will help the next generations of developers. ❤️
