I will advocate for treating homelessness as the crisis it is, through expanded rapid housing, rent supplements, and mental health outreach. We can deliver dignity for people in need while keeping public spaces welcoming for everyone.

“This is amazing: Heckler: “I voted for Biden. I like you, but I can't vote for you. The problem is, his book says something different than my book.” The crowd booed. Security started to approach the man. But Abdul El Sayed stopped him. Abdul El Sayed: “Let him stay. Let him stay." The guards backed off. He paused. "Sir, I'm grateful that you're here." He paused, and said, "I’m just gonna tell you this.” El Sayed: “The book that matters for all of us is the U.S. Constitution.” The crowd erupted in applause. The heckler uncrossed his arms. He actually applauded along with the crowd. He nodded and pointed at El Sayed. El Sayed: “I want to say thank you, my friend. I just want to tell you, when it comes right down to it, at the end of the day, I’m gonna swear an oath to that U.S. Constitution. Because of the U.S. Constitution, you have the right to live according to your own book.” Crowd shouted, "Yeah." El Sayed: “And also, because of the U.S. Constitution, you don’t get to enforce that law on anyone else.” The crowd cheered for 14 straight seconds. The heckler stood there, absorbing it all. He sat down. That is how you bring Michigan – and all Americans – together.”

Political connections. Lobbyists. Donations. Hundreds of millions in OSAP funding. The Ford government was warned in 2023. So why did it take over three years to act? Who was lobbying them? Who was donating? What did they know, and when? Now innocent students are paying the price. Sign my petition to restore OSAP: tylerwattmpp.ca/fix-osap-asa… #onpoli

Mercifully tabloidist Brian Lilley won't have a duty to care for the public. His lunatic right-wing populist ideas (safe consumption sites cause opioid deaths and closing them saves people) are laughable. He can't cogently respond to my 2024 post to him or anything below. 👇👇👇 Why are there now less opioid deaths. 1-Less opioid deaths isn't just in Ontario. It's across Canada and the US. Ontario's obtuse abstinence-only approach can't explain why opioid deaths are significantly down in for example, British Columbia or the states of Washington or Oklahoma. Ontario's abstinence-only approach can't explain the 14% reduction in opioid deaths in the majority of American states in 2025 (and in 2024 and 2023). 2-Opioid deaths sharply declined in Ontario from Dec 2024 to Feb 2025, long before Ontario started shutting down safe use sites in March 2025. In fact, death rates declined while safe consumption sites were open and in place. 3-The drug supply has changed. A factor behind less deaths is what is cut into street fentanyl. Less benzodiazepenes in the drug supply means less respiratory depression which naloxone can't reverse. This is a moving target, but is an important factor. What's tragic is that when Ontario Conservatives ended safe consumption sites, a lot of drug-checking was lost with it. Drug checking is really important for people using drugs and for ER doctors like me, to know what to expect with overdoses and withdrawal. 4-Naloxone has flooded the zone. This is crucial reason we see less opioid deaths. Naloxone is widely available compared to ever before. 5-More community and public awareness. The community using drugs is more aware of life-saving naloxone. Pharmacies and ERs give it out for free. This is crucial. 6-Treatment and recovery does play a key role. There's more awareness of the importance of this approach, and here, Ontario Conservatives deserve praise for adding new funding for HART hubs - at the unfortunate expense of slashing safe use sites. It was never supposed to be either/or - it was supposed to be harm reduction and treatment/recovery. 7-Many of the most vulnerable are now dead. This includes patients I've cared for. I remember who they were. This is a tragic truth. 56,631 Canadians have died from opioid toxicity between 2016-2025. 8-Those still alive are using street drugs more carefully and are better supported across North America. For example, a lot of healthcare workers - ER doctors like me - know that the overdose patient in the ER - is probably the sickest patient and the most soon to die - compared to all the rest of the patients in the ER that day. 9-Harm reduction has been effective. In 10 years, Canada had 6 million visits to safe consumption sites. There were 70,000 overdoses. None died. Brian - try to frame an intelligent argument using facts, professional experience and without a political axe to grind and even despite your paycheque coming from American MAGAs. @brianlilley @MooreintheAM
This fool of an activist masquerading as a doctor likes "safe consumption sites" and thinks they save lives. In Toronto, opioid overdose deaths have dropped 44% since the transition away from supporting addiction to supporting treatment. He supports Chow. torontosun.com/opinion/colum…

Readers added context they thought people might want to know
The footage is from June 2024 when Tommy Robinson was detained in Calgary on an outstanding immigration warrant after a speaking event. He was released the same day without charges and completed his tour. news.sky.com/story/tommy-ro… torontosun.com/news/local-new… leadstories.com/hoax-alert/202…

Privatization of Toronto’s water will lead to bad.. bad things.
It’s wild that Brad Bradford vehemently opposed giving water to homeless people during a heat wave and now he wants to give control of Toronto’s water away forever to the highest bidder

Les fiers Canadiens et Canadiennes que j’ai rencontrés au Cinnamon Indian Cuisine and Bar à Calgary savent ce que signifie le mot « communauté ». #ableg The total cost of Smith’s Separatist referendum is $200 million That SHOULD have paid for: 🏥 20 Urgent Care Clinics 🌀 40 MRI Machine Labs 👩‍⚕️ 500 Family Doctors 🎗️ 8,000 Cancer Treatments 🩺 1,000,000 Mammograms Smith chose her separatist UCP pals over saving lives
The total financial cost of the October 19, 2026, referendum will be between $170 million and $200 million representing a major waste of taxpayers' money. The UCP government has spent $4 million of public funds promoting the referendum. This includes a $300,000 promotional website, a $1.5 million economic analysis on secession, and over $365,000 for a televised premier address and social media promotional videos. cbc.ca/news/canada/edmonton/…
